Israeli combat soldiers walk along the Israeli northern border with Lebanon. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is pursuing a new round of Middle East diplomacy as the Lebanon conflict moved into its 19th day, with Israel and Hezbollah exchanging firepower and threats in defiance of international moves toward a ceasefire
Of course CNN and its cronies will try to ignore both the fact that the people were warned and that the rockets were being launced there.
"If the long range missiles are fired quickly - this whole deal was a setup from the getgo."
Yep.
And if it takes a long time, then it either wasn't all planned in advance, or else, it was, and IAF's efforts to date are working to degrade Axis command and control..
I wonder...the F-111's we finally retired after Desert Storm..did we chop them up for scrap yet or are they functional? Nice present for Israel, some interim medium range bombers, nuclear capable, hehehehe....
Do you have Psalm 83 handy? It's so appropriate for what's happening.
Thanks for posting Psalm 74.
I don't understand why Condi is still there. I'm not trying to be inflamatory here, I'm asking a real question.
If she's trying to lay the ground work for a UN resolution, why isn't Kofi doing this?
Of course it would backfire on to us. And if we had stayed home, it would have backfired onto us. And if we had done anything but forced Israel into a ceasefire, it would have backfired on to us.
And that would have backfired onto us in other ways.
When the men folk round up 57 (per FOX) women and children into the house as their launching rockets from the backyard don't be surprised if women and children are hit hardest.
Sure, like we all have nearly 60 room mates.
Damned if we did, damned if we didn't.
But of course French nuclear weapons will only kill combatants: /s
Chirac condemns Qana bombing, calls for ceasefire
French President Jacques Chirac condemned an Israeli air strike that killed at least 40 Lebanese civilians on Sunday and said it highlighted the need for an immediate ceasefire.
"The president learnt with concern about the act of violence which cost the lives of numerous innocent victims, notably women and children in Qana," his office said in a statement. "France condemns this unjustified action which demonstrates more than ever the need for an immediate ceasefire without which there will only be other such incidents." (Reuters)
France delivers nuclear threat

By John Thornhill in Paris and Peter Spiegel in London
Jacques Chirac, France's president, has threatened to use nuclear weapons against any state that supported terrorism against his country or considered using weapons of mass destruction.
In a high-profile speech on Thursday to update military officers on France's strategic doctrine, Mr Chirac said the end of the cold war had removed neither the threats to peace nor the justification for a nuclear deterrent.
Kofi is an ineffectual, pro terrorist (mostly pro-3rd world) corrupt weakling.
Maybe later than that.
Not even a peep concerning any fighting in those areas yet.
Maybe waiting for the ...oxygen debt...to reach the brain and the rest of the body, neck firmly in fist, yes?
I woke up to see the mob trying to break into the UN in Beruit. And now the majority of Lebanon, presumably, is supporting Hezbollah.
Thanks for posting Psalm 74.
I'll have to read 83. I also find 93 a good one in times like this. I pray it when our guys get into battles here. (Or is it 91? I just got diagnosed with tonsillitis and I'm a little woozy...)
Then they should share their fate.
Chirac doesn't have much of a moral center. Talk is cheap. Putting your money where your mouth is requires a strong center to move from. And he has long demmonstrated that expediency rules his heart.
Glad to see this:
Olmert vows to push forward with military offensive
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said during the Cabinet meeting on Sunday that Israel "will not blink" in the face of Hizbullah, vowing to push forward with a 19-day-old offensive against the Lebanese Shiite group.
"Hizbullah, like Islamic terror in general, is threatening the whole western civilization. When we decided to respond we knew we will have to go through difficult tests. We will withstand these tests and we'll win," he said. (Ronny Sofer)

I don't understand what business of ours or hers that she should have gone in the first place. If she was that concerned, then why isn't she sitting down for tea with Hezbollah? With this trip, she's lost my vote in '08 (not that she was running, but whatever). Ha, Kofi getting dust on his nice Italian handmade shoes, no way. He's not about to leave his a/c and room service.
Excellent statement. The Israelis PR offensive should begin in earnest- everywhere they need to repeat over and over two things- the civilians were warned days in advance to leave and Hizzballah INTENTIONALLY TARGETS civilians as a way of life.
