We should get as much of an admission out of one of the Kennedys when THEY get pulled over and get combative with the arresting officer.

It sounds like Gibson has a demon to conquer. It doesn't sound like he is blaming anyone but himself. That is responsibility in action.

This is pathetic. You're supposed to hire a team of lawyers and PR flacks to deny everything, make excuses, shift blame, and denounce the cops for setting you up. Has this man learned nothing from his long contact with Democrats in Hollywood?

The problem is that booze tends to bring out one's true nature. The guy's id, his instinctual reflective beliefs and attitude, is a not a pretty picture, and to leash it, the guy needs to take up jogging or something in lieu of booze. That is my best advice.

I am impressed. It takes a big man to admit he was wrong and to own up to it.
Then, there is Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Hitlery Clinton, etc.

He said he has "battled with the disease of alcoholism"
It's not a disease, it's an acquired habit. The only real treatment is personal will power.

Gibson should have said F...ing Jew bastard and the MSM would have given him a pass. That is what Hillary said and no one blinked an eye.

What's hard to understand is that 0.12 isn't exactly an amount of alcohol where one would expect semicoherent ranting of the sort reported. Heck, most people experience only minor impairment at that level. I have to wonder whether some other substance was involved here.

I admire him for having the guts to come out and apologize, but I find it laughable how people are so quick to forgive him because he directed a movie they liked.
When you're drunk you don't just spout anything; alcohol loosens inhibitions, and no amount of "Well the Jews denounced his movie" can whitewash that fact.
The man's an anti-semite. I have as little respect for him as I do for any of the other anti-semites who are mentioned around here, from Koffi Annan to Pat Buchanan.

Mr. Gibson, thank you for issuing a real apology apology. Not to excuse your actions but you are taking it like a man and making a good first step at addressing the problem. Prayers for you to beat that demon.

Only .12 and he was that out of control? I think they lowered the number in public release due to who he was....
.12 is NOT that drunk and I know, I got an underage ticket at .17 and the cops told me they couldn't even tell i had been drinking...
