US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice salutes a US Marine as she walks towards a helicopter upon her departure from Beirut after meeting with Lebanese officials.
Yes, two different incidents.
anybody see the Sky News report on Fox a few minutes ago (female reporter), she drove up and down the border road and commented on the amount of armor moving UP to the border
I don't know...I would think that even Israel could say to the world community that they just had to fight off Hezbullah in northern Israel...while fighting Hamas in Gaza, so they should NOT have to have a third front at the West Bank...
They could easily say that Israel has given up enough in blood and land.

Bush has given Israel time to initiate a "long term solution" to Hezbollah.
All else falls under the heading of current or future operations.
I have things narrowed down to a few possibilities, similar to those arrived at by Stratfor, but among them, I just don't know which is the likeliest. Olmert does, as do a few Generals, but they haven't called me for advice today, so I'm just guessing like everyone else.
Terrific...blech

Also just saw a report that in addition to the killing of 2nd in command for Hez. now reporting that central sector commander has been killed.
Gane... whats your sense of his demeanor?
According to UNIFIL sources and AFP reporters from the Israeli side of the border, the Israelis have bombarded that area heavily all through the afternoon.
As others have noted on this thread, this is the most narrow area between Israel's borde and the Litani river. It also looks like the gate-way into the Bekaa valley.
On the map I am using almost all roads from Al Khyam, Al Qulay'ah and Marji'yun are running in a north-easterly direction.
