US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice salutes a US Marine as she walks towards a helicopter upon her departure from Beirut after meeting with Lebanese officials.
Aaack! INCOMING!
LOL!
"Washington, Asharq Al-Awsat- The United States will soon provide Israel with some 100 "bunker buster" bombs to kill the leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah guerrilla group and destroy its trenches, Informed sources in both Washington and Tel Aviv to Asharq Al-Awsat. The sources also revealed that "bunker buster" bombs, which can penetrate up to 40 meters under ground, will be delivered to Israel from a U.S. military base in Qatar. Israel has been bombarding Lebanon after Hezbollah killed eight and captured two Israeli soldiers, provoking Israel's biggest military campaign against Lebanon in 24 years. "
I could post the following:
"NORAD says Iran fuelling missiles, multiple launches detected."
...and possibly disrupt this thread, at a time when we need to keep all the cool we can. I'd like to see any such potential response redirected, from "oh no!" to "source please?"
From studying various 9/11 threads, early and inaccurate reports increased general agitation unnecessarily, creating unwarranted stress at a time when stress was already in overabundance.
First response to any report, no matter how inflammatory, should be scepticism, not belief. Check the source, if there is none, attach a huge question mark to the report. Don't ignore it, hope for the best, plan for the worst, but be very careful spreading disinformation. Re-report the question mark first, then the news the question mark is attached to.
If you get a source, remember, intel agencies, scientists, reporters, all of these require three instances or three unconnected sources for corroboration. Even strictly applying this three source rule can get you in trouble, once I passed on a three source report that Smallpox had broken out in Afghanistan, when what actually happened was one doctor reported chicken pox in a small town, and three major news agencies mis-interpreted him. You have to back check the source's source to be sure. Three reports of one guy saying something don't count as three sources.
Eventually we are going to have to confront Iran, and when that happens, terrorist attacks become more likely.
We got caught sleeping on 9/11, but there's no need for that to happen again.
Be sceptical, be flexible, and make a concious effort to spread calm, not fear, especially fear based on material not yet classified as to credibility.
We don't know- no one I know here votes for him. My apologies.
Thanks ;) I knew I could get you to post to me eventually.
If that report is true, this is not going to end anytime soon.
That photo is incredibly chilling.
What in heavens name is it going to take for the world to get a wakeup call this time?
We don't know- no one I know here votes for him. My apologies.
That's exactly what people say here in Il re DICK....somehow he seems to get re-elected.
"I swear ... he is dumber then a box of rocks.
Someone please explain how the heck this man gets elected to the US Senate??"
Answer: Just enough Flori-duh voters to get him elected. That pedantic labored slow speech makes Mr. Rogers seem to be on crack.
And from all reports crazier than a loon as well. Not just ordinary Democrat crazy, but crazy crazy.
That absolutely baffles me. I thought for sure we could pick up that seat, but the Harris campaign has been downhill all the way. Most unfortunate.
I really despise Durbin and think he is a POS .. but at least he has one brain cell
Nelson of FL has NONE
Very interesting.....
but at least he has one brain cell
.....and that one brain cell is diseased..
"Someone please explain how the heck this man gets elected to the US Senate??"
No clue....certainly not with my vote.
You're watching Fox. I heard the following in reports at 8:00 and 9:00 this morning. Did you hear the same?
8:00 Report - Mike Tobin, Fox, reporting from the border on the Israeli side. Hez came right up to border w/rockets & fired twice. Israeli casualties. Hez warned Tobin group that airing film of the rocket launches would endanger colleagues reporting from Lebanon. He mentioned this again in less detail in 9:00 report.
9:00 Report - Greg Palkot reporting from Tyre area that Hez told them that showing film of impact sites would endanger colleagues on Israeli side of border.
So......Hezbolla is 'managing' news reports and concealing their launch sites by threatening reporters on both sides of the border.
I missed that ... interesting that Hezbl are threating reporters now
CNN must be French .. cause they gave in pretty fast with their tour
