We accidentally picked up a Woody Allen movie a few weeks ago; I don't know how that guy got so popular because his movies stink.

Mr. P is watching the Yankees and I'm going back to my book shortly but I'm catching up on the thread and have a question.

I saw you say something about changing the channel from Fox because they pick up their feeds from satellite. So if I don't change the channel, they can tell I'm watching and get higher ratings?

Thanks for the clarification.

I did not see the entire piece, and so I only heard what I suppose that I wanted to hear.

Yes. Anyone who has satellite has it hooked up to a phone line. Remember when you first had satellite turned on you had to have them send a signal? And remember how they know what pay-per-view movies you select?

Direct TV gets info on viewers through those same phone lines. They can tell what channel you are watching...when we have had trouble and have talked to customer service, they say things like "you're on channel 360 now, right>"

So, I always switch channels or turn the TV off when I am aggravated. Muting won't send the message I want them to get.
