Police Close Union Station for Suspicious Package

Washington, D.C. (AP) - Union Station has been closed, and trains are not being allowed at the station after a suspicious package was discovered Thursday evening.
An Amtrak spokesman says an Amtrak police officer found the suspicious piece of baggage unattended around 7:45 p.m. D.C. Police and U.S Capital Police are assisting with an investigation.
At least one train from New York has let passengers off at New Carrollton.
Metro trains are running through Union Station but aren't stopping for passengers. Metro spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein says they are setting up bus service between Judiciary Square and New York Avenue.
