From correspondents in Dubai

AN Israeli army helicopter has crashed inside Israel, Al Jazeera television quoted Israeli army sources as saying. It gave no further details. The Israeli military had no immediate comment.
In 1997, two Israeli transport helicopters crashed en route to Lebanon, killing more than 70 Israeli servicemen.
Earlier, Israel confirmed two of its soldiers had been killed in heavy fighting with Hezbollah guerrillas just inside the Lebanon border.
Al Jazeera television had said four Israeli soldiers had been killed in the village of Maroun al-Ras.

If you look at some of my messages I posted yesterday you will get idea that we all may have to start thinking along the lines of what you posted
OK...so is there a ping list for this Middle East Live Thread?....who is in charge of it?
Can we get a location of Maroun al-Ras on that map you just posted?
a Hizbullah defeat would be "a defeat for the entire Islamic nation."
It's a start, now let's pile on~!
Karl is the keeper of this thread.
In re: the photo, I don't see a shadow from the soldier or the weaponry that matches the shadow from the soldier on the right. Anyone else?
If the reporters said Muslim, they were probably correct, alas. In addition, there are many Palestinians who now pass themselves off as Lebanese. And many dumb American women who marry them - but of course, that's a whole different thread!
Karl.... ncpatriot wants on the ping list..
oops .. I read the wrong update .. I was looking at the letter to Germany
When a leader speaks of defeat while his troops are in the field....that said leader is in deep trouble.
You're right...
You are more observant than I am...
Also notice the boot size of the right foot (stage left) that sticks out under the guardrail?
Not enough data to say one way or the other if its a full blown invasion....but there is alot of activity in that one sector.
I posted the first day that it was revealed that the "Americans" in Lebanon would be allowed to leave even if they didn't have their passports...that it should not be so..
That I feared that Hezbollah and other non-friendlies might slip in...
I notice the MSM has finally thought about that, about 2 days too late...and after Joe Biden and other Congresscritters have been bragging about facilitating the FREE trip back home.
Then, this morning we get that post from rebel_yell..telling us that not many on his ship even spoke English..
This afternoon...when the thread about Iranian suicide bombers showing up in Lebanon showed up...my first thought was if any managed to make it on a ship.
Or, could it be the Hezzies are leaving the area because they know something really 'bad' is going to happen (courtesy of their REAL boss in Iran)?
I'm looking for a good map.
