From the Tehran Terror Squad...
Tehran, 18 July (AKI) - Iranian parliamet speaker Gholam Ali Hadad Adel told an anti-Israel rally in Tehran on Tuesday that the current fighting in Lebanon was just the beginning of a wider regional conflict. "The war has only just begun, today is the day of resistance, today is the day of the liberation of Palestine, there will be no safe place from Hezbollah's attacks in the occupied land (Israel)," he said. A member of the Abadgaran party of president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the official also said Iran will give all possible aid to Lebanon and compared the leader of the Shiite militant group Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah to the leader of the Iranian revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
The state-run IRNA news agency said the rally was "huge" and was attended by senior Iranian officials and lawmakers, as well as by students and citizens.

On Chrissy's show earlier...he had on Pete Williams the NBC Foreign Affairs reporter (I think)..
Chrissy was asking HIM questions like he is some kind of experts...well..Pete said that here in the USA...WE should be a lot more afraid of al-queda than Hezbollah.
NOW..that is just the OPPOSITE from what I have been hearing for the two weeks that this Israel/Hezbollah war has been going on, from "expert" after "expert"..
Pete said that whereas Al-Queda wants to kill Jews and Americans, and take over the world...
Hezbollah doesn't..they JUST want to be involved with Syria and Iran....that they DON'T aspire to conquering America or other countries.
Have you or any other freeper heard THAT analysis of Hezbollah before?? He says that one of the reasons he knows this is because even though HEZ was responsible for killing the Marines..and bombing the Embassy...
They haven't gone after Americans anywhere else.
Opinions anyone?
Not left yet so I'll answer your question: The two soldiers who died were the same who were reported seriously wounded previously - one with a head wound, the second from a blast injury. The other 6 who have been reported injured are, as far as can be ascertained from the reports, luckily only moderatly or lightly wounded.
At the same time the IDF estimates that they have killed 30 to 40 hezbollah terrorists in the fighting. However, they also admited that it had been tough going:
"According to the IDF, 10 Hizbullah cells were hit by the IDF throughout the day, as well as three Hizbullah command centers. The army estimated that between 30 and 40 Hizbullah terrorists were killed.
However, a high-ranking IDF officer said the difficulties troops encountered in Thursday's fighting could prompt a larger-scale ground offensive into southern Lebanon."
OK, now I'm off - Good Night all.
IIRC, before 9-11, Hezbollah had killed more Americans than any other terrorist group.
Paging Pete Williams...

I am getting SO confused...it seems like every "expert" gives different information..which means one thing and one thing only..
NO ONE KNOWS.
I personally think both are to be feared equally. A terrorist is a terrorist. Kill 'em all, negotiate with no one. Like some FReeper's tagline indicates:
"Truce appeal from a terrorist means they are out of ammunition."
I must have missed Chrissy, I thought he came on at 5 Eastern. Cafferty on now with letter from soon idiot saying, Let's sit back and let the UN do it's job.
I would have been ashamed to read that twot.
Yes...paging Pete Williams is right.
Thanks for THAT link.
So if preventing that means it's open season on Hezbollah, fine by me.
That is absolute bull. They were threatening to blow up installations in the U.S. back in the early 1980s - around the time they bombed the Marine barracks.
Your terminology reminded me of something I wrote in one of my textbooks about emergent computer technologies. (It's been a long time but, in essence, computers were incestuous in advancing the power of computers.)
The media goes to great strides to separate terrorist groups by name and location but they all share the same ideology and goal > establish Islam across the globe.
My take is that the Mad Mullahs have sub-contracted the Lebanon-Israel theater to one group of Hezi-Nazis who are supposed to focus only upon that front..... for now.
But they are all part of the loose alliance of Islamo-fascists, both Shia and Sunni, who want to obliterate Israel and then take the global jihad to Europe and the USA and everywhere else.
If this particular group isn't attacking Americans, it's only because they have their plate full with trying to weaken Israel and don't yet want to focus on other fronts.
Anyway, we owe them endless payback for what they did to our Marines and Embassy people in 1983, so every REAL American should be rooting for Israel to kill every last Hezi-Nazi they can get at.....
00:59 Thousands of Israeli troops operating in south Lebanon (Haaretz)
I always get a kick out of hearing the Hezbollah translator screaming their propaganda. Sounds like a Saturday Night Live spoof.
Looks like an encirclement of southern Lebanon is underway -
