Col. Pat Lang, USA (retired) Motto: Show me the money; I'll take your liberal side.
I agree with you. It's all political. I hate to bring it up but it is appropriate: over 40 million abortions in the past 30 years. Where's the outrage from the media and politicos about 10 million plus per year? (Don't answer...it's just a reference point.)
One other thing that I've noticed is the images of blown up buildings in Lebanon. The media makes it look like the whole of Beirut is blown up. I heard no less than two pundits say that it is only one large neighborhood.
Oh good, they will side with the group responsible for the majority of Lebanese citizen deaths!! Kind of reminds be of when I was in Laos last year and during a conversation with an elderly farmer, I asked if he had noticed much difference since the Lao People's Democratic Republic (LPDR) had taken over. He smiled and said "Yes!!! They (Lao communists) stopped shooting at us."
It's all incest, isn't it? Wow.
I saw a press report quoting him as saying that Isreal DID NOT destroy 50% of his military capability...a claim that Isreal has been making in the last 24-36 hours. That would indicate that he's still alive (as of this morning).
Not surprised since Leb. military forces used their coastal radars to assist Hezbollah with their attack on the Israeli warship.
I think they should send old volunteer geezers like me. I'm ready. Just gimme a gun, point the way, and gimme a shove. I would be more than happy to replace any young person in harm's way. Can't hear, can hardly see, can't walk too far because of my caloused feet -- the ideal decoy.
It might come to that. But I would expect the whole world would be involved in their own neighborhoods if the crazies go to Plan B. In which case, I'm as ready now as I'll ever be. How 'bout yourself?
Well it's very likely the same Patrick Lang who is associated with the VIPS crowd around Larry Johnson, Ray McGovern, Joe Wilson, et al. Lang is not as much of a nutjob as some of the others, he actually does know stuff, but he always sees it through his personal lens of Bush-hatred and Israel-hatred.
If they will take flatfooted, arthritic, bald guys I'm right there with you! LOL
You can donate to the IDF if you wish!
7/20/2006 - SAN ANTONIO (AFPN) -- A general medical team from U.S. Air Forces Europe departed Ramstein Air Base, Germany, today to support Lebanon transportation operations.
The team, comprised of more than a dozen medical professionals, was sent to fulfill a request by the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia, Cyprus.
These Airmen, their supplies and equipment, along with other USAFE units, are supporting U.S. Central Command's operations in the area, said Maj. Pamela Cook, a U.S. European Command spokesperson.
These Airmen are the newest additions to the Air Force's support in the region. The Air Force has contributed C-17 Globemaster IIIs, MH-53 Pave Low helicopters, C-130 Hercules and other Air Force aircraft to the Mediterranean operation.
While Airmen and aircraft are doing their part to help, these Air Force assets are not going into Lebanon. Instead they are supporting operations from "joint-use bases" in the region, said Maj. Lisa Neidinger, 16th Air Force Public Affairs.
So far the regional operation is succeeding, Air Force officials said.
According to the State Department, approximately 1,600 American citizens have been transported out of Lebanon since July 16. More than 1,200 Americans were transported to Cyprus July 19.
Currently more than 80 Airmen are supporting the operation. They join other U.S. military forces, such as the Navy's aircraft carrier Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group and elements of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
U.S. Central Command is directing all movement operations in the region.
That's congruent with what I was saying. That being the case, I don't want any of my tax dollars to go to the rebuilding of Lebanon (as some have suggested.) In addition, I don't want any of my tax dollars sent to support an expanded UN peacekeeping force when they've been in Southern Lebanon since 1978. Those UN "peacekeepers" watched Hezzies build tunnels, cross the Blue Line, move in munitions, build bunkers, etc.
Am I the only one wondering how it is that in all these skirmishes there are only IDF dead?
Is it that the IDF is doling out death big time and they are just being coy about the outcomes or - this worrries me - that they are getting repeated bloody noses.
I am reminded of that horrible phase 3-4 days into the liberation of Iraq - remember the sandstorm? - when there seemed to be no good news (until Mad Ivan posted a report of a British raid on a Baathist HQ in Basra).
Yes, but did SHE win a Pulitizer Prize??? NOOO..it was the journalists that wrote about LEAKED intelligence information..that someone handed to them..

Julie Banderas:
"Guess who shows up to say he's still alive (Nasrallah)..."
"No, not in the New York Times."
"Al Jazeera."
Brian Todd on CNN just gave us all the reasons why this is Bush's fault.

Fwiw, hearing Hezbolla managed to take down Israeli helicopter WITHIN Israel...
Are they setting up their battle formations against the Israelis yet?
