Defying the will of Congress (remember these votes in November!), President Bush sent a veto message (read the president's message here), that he would not sign HR 810, the "Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2005."

President Bush addressed the situation in Lebanon while meeting with members of Congress in the White House.

Secretary of State Rice met at the State Department today: New Zealand's Minister of Foreign Affairs Winston Peres, and Belgium's Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht. Next week she is scheduled to attend Southeast Asia's top security forum.

**There is no mandate against embryonic stem cell research. It can be done privately. This was a veto over a plan for us (our government) to fund it, which we shouldn't be doing anyway. It's for private companies to do.**

This needs to be repeated again and again, altura. Unfortunately though, the President haters are unreasonable...and one cannot reason with an unreasonable person. Very sad.

I'm THRILLED with this veto!

Friends of the Tiggy's used all the eggs in 2 IVF procedures. The 1st produced a single child. The 2nd produced triplets. Then God intervened and gifted them with a natural conception of one child. What a blessing!

That child is just precious. You can tell by the look on our W's face, he thinks so, too.

Dubya sure is a cuddler with the little ones. This little minx looks like she's got quite a story for him. You can just tell that at the moment this was snapped, she was the only person he saw. He may be the most powerful man in the world, but he's not too busy to listen to a tot.

Glad we could all celebrate this historic first. For now, I must go back to work and then to bed.

I am in DC every Friday.
Sometimes, like this week, I'm there 2 or 3 times.
With the heat and the 'scenery' I doubt it will be fun. LOL!

I've never seen Cornyn say or do anything I didn't like. I haven't studied his career and votes but when I see him on TV or hear of his voting record, I've always admired him and his stances.
