Uh oh. Shep's on Fox News now. Reporting on this hit. Says the bunker is 100 feet deep, constructed by Iranians, had multiple exits. No idea yet whether senior Hezbollah leadership were inside.

While enlisted in Reagan's military as a reservist, I was on field excercises where war-games were played out (Red vs Blue), and I could hear rounds-out from the 155's firing from 18 miles away. I was lucky enough to experience those incoming rounds landing in the artillery impact range that was near to the camp. You tell me how close I was: there was noticable heaval of the ground. We were under a sustained barrage for hours (that crap was nasty to say the least). Not to mentioned that interminable whining as the shells screamed in...

Six miles is nothing for what was dropped on the Muzzies. I witnessed target practice on the range by a 105 team. Almost 40 seconds elapsed from the detonation flash to the explosion. And even considering that distance, the explosion percussion was incredibly LOUD!

I loved this movie!!!

****

From Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid (poker game):

Butch: We seem to be a little short on brotherly love around here.

Macon: If you're with him, you'd better get yourselves out of here.

Butch: (urging his partner) We're on our way. Come on.

Sundance: (with his head slightly down) I wasn't cheating.

Butch: (now more urgently as he drops down beside him) Come on!

Sundance: (louder) I wasn't cheating.

Macon: You can die. For that matter, you can both die.

Butch: You hear that?

Sundance: If he invites us to stay, then we'll go.

Butch: We were gonna leave anyway.

Sundance: He's gotta invite us to stick around.

Butch: He'll draw on ya. He's ready. You don't know how fast he is. (He moves around behind his pal) I'm over the hill, but it can happen to you.

Sundance: That's just what I want to hear.

Butch: Every day you get older. Now that's a law! (Macon cocks his pistol.) (Butch rises and moves over to the gunman) What would you think about maybe asking us to stick around?

Macon: What?

Butch: You don't have to mean it or anything. Just ask us to stick around. I promise you...(Macon refuses to listen and gestures sharply for Butch to move away. Butch hesitates, turns toward his pal, and softly advises) I can't help you, Sundance.

When the gunman realizes the identity of his opponent - that he is up against quick-draw "Sundance," a horrified, dismayed look crosses his face. As they stand facing each other, the gunman humbly apologizes to the fearsome killer with a deadly reputation, and then requests a display of Sundance's expertise as a gunman:

Macon: I didn't know you were the Sundance Kid when I said you were cheatin'. If I draw on you, you'll kill me.

Sundance: There is that possibility.

I understand that Israel has the most effective HUMINT operations in the world.

They blew the anti-ship missile, so their not superhuman.

Fox did it right with this war. It was the only network to offer commercial-free updates the first night of the conflict -- with Shep.

Not PC.

By the way...... the last two lines of that poker game sequence is pretty much the story of Israel kicking ass in the mideast.

;-)

"if i'm not mistaken, the ordnance that took out zarqawi was one of the new cement bombs that had been tested because of its contained effect making it safer to use in densely populated areas."

They've been using them for a long time. Many targets in Baghdad were hit using them at the start of the war. They are excellent for minimizing collateral damage. The Brits were dropping pure concrete guided bombs on positions as well. They didn't contain any explosives at all, but you'd never know it. The kinetic energy and explosion is amazing from a 2000lb hunk of cement dropped from a 5 miles up.

That seems to be a C-130, or an AC-130 dropping chaff or other countermeasures used to avoid missiles, that looks like it'd be used to avoid a heat seaking missile. I don't think it'd do much good to the guys on the ground.

Well, it's over now! Brit reporting that Hezbollah has announced that noone was injured in the bomb attach. "However," adds Brit wryly, "none of the Hezbollah leadership has made an appearance to confirm this." :0)

Here is a GREAT site that has the entire script of the movie.

This movie was the greatest!

Butch about Sundance to Edda in Bolivia after getting off the train in the middle of nowhere: "He'll feel a lot better after he's robbed a couple of banks." LOL!
