Look at me, damn it! Don't you think I'm familiar with the load capacity of a Sea Stallion?!

Not to mention we've got to spend millions to evacuate these people. Charity begins at home, or at least in a non-war zone where you have no ability to extracate yourself if it hits the fan.
Anyway, look for the media to feature these people front and center. It's this summer's Katrina-like assault on the administration. The media has just been dying for something they can use to attack the administration on and unfortunately for them so far Mother Nature hasn't complied since there has only been one tropical storm so far. So they are looking for something in the Lebanon situation to use to bludgeon Bush and they've found it with this one. I saw on this on the NBC Nightly News and CNN last night and I didn't watch either for long before seeing such a story. I'm sure the others are doing the same. I'm sure Anderson Cooper, Shep Smith and Joe Sacrborough will be in Beirut any day now weeping for all the poor American backpackers the administration has so cruely left behind.

Welll, I'm sure he's the expert on the load capacity of at least one thing. And that might have
something to do with a stallion.
Or maybe a gerbil.

Embassy is only evacuating sick, women and children. Advising people to stay put until they are contacted by Embassy personnel.

Because the terrorists can't strike Israel as easy as they could strike the embassy.

about 350 cleared for Cyprus today.
Wonder how Cyprus is coping with such an influx of people?

Six days is warp speed for the U.S. gov to launch an evac.
The little whiners and crybabies are disgusting. It's like the U.S. gov should be their damned babysitters abroad.

Someone knows something, and they aren't saying. Get it? Get them out ASAP.France evacuated 700 people from their embassy on a ferry. Took them to Cypress.
The French really know how to get things done, don't they? As long as it involves running away, that is.
(So much for my tagline, today anyway.)

The US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, whether under Democratic or Republican Administration, admit it, is just to damned slow or inept to move. We are talking career bureaucrats who haven't got this thing under control. It crosses the political spectrum. I've seen this ineptness with my own eyes in emergency situations. In several of them, the President was either a Democrat or a Republican.
However, if any of those civilian Americans (business execs, students, reporters, family members, tourists, missionaries, whatever) stuck there suddenly could show up on satellite photos as wearing American military uniforms, we'd have had nonstop shuttles in there extracting them in the first 12 hours of this Israeli offensive.

Exactly. As if marshalling military and private sector shipping and other resources can be done in a day. This is just a media-beaten frenzy. They want another Katrina "the govt. acted too slow" angle to beat Bush down with again. They're nervous his approval numbers are back in the 40% range again. I'm so sick of these rats and their agendized coverage. And the whiners who thought it would be "neat" to say they've been to Lebanon, they need to be billed for the services of the US taxpayer in paying for their exit transportation from Lebanon. If they could afford an exotic vacation like this, they can afford to pay me back. No one is paying for my transportation for vacation this year.
