Remember in Gulf War 1 when Saddam was videoed with the British kids and such?
To: sonsofliberty2000
Yeah, when Israel was gitting hit on a regular basis, the MSM said nothing. But when Israel reacts in like, IT'S A MASSACRE! If the Americans are Muslim, they will be safe in Syria.

>Welcome to Syria, Mr. American Refugee. Regretably, your status has changed slightly, though. Please step over into that wire compound and those nice gentlemen with the head scarves and AK-47s will assist you into your new quarters."

Hezbolla and Hamas will wind up taking hostages before this is all said and done Though I can't say this with any certainty, I don't think Hamas and Hezbolla are THAT stupid. So far, the US has only supported Israel in word. Taking hostages would change that in the blink of an eye.

I think I would try to ride things out in Lebanon or get to Cyprus. Going to Syria may be a case of travelling from the frying pan to the fire.

Damascus: "If your idea of comfort is a cold ditch, then do we have a deal for you."
I would hope the good U.S. citizens Lebanon would demonstrate that they have enough common sense not to partake of this offer.

That's what I was thinking, of course this comment was added....
""In Syria, US and citizens of other nations find a safe haven from the barbaric and atrocious acts of the Israeli army in Lebanon," it said, adding that already a "huge influx of US and foreign nationals" have entered Syria."
Hopefully, Syria won't get involved while US citizens are there.

The purpose of this offer is clear. It furthers Muslim interests in portraying Israel as the brutal aggressor, even harming Americans. Syria can claim moral superiority as they magnanimously offer Americans asylum from the brutal Israelis.
Just more weak Muslim Mind Tricks.

The opposite to this is the Hezbollah getting out also with the captured soldiers. If they get to Syria, they will get to Iran.

The Syrian embassy said it was offering "safe haven" to Americans and other citizens wishing to flee Lebanon, where nearly 200 civilians have been killed during a massive Israeli military bombardment. RIIIIIIIGHT!!! I'm sure they don't have ulterior motives. LOL I can't count the ways they could use them to force us to do things.

From what I understand, most of the Americans over there are of Lebanese descent and are living there. I wouldn't trust Syria for a second...
