No fission and fusion are nuclear, all nuclear power plants are fission. There is a difference between Atom (fission) and Hydrogen (Fusion with fission trigger) bombs.

Would that anyone who states that the Israeli response is "disproportionate" be shown the image that Fox just showed of the wall of a building pockmarked with the scars of ball bearings. Mike Tobin held up a handful of ball bearings and said that is a unique tag of a Syrian weapon. And that the ball bearings will rip thru human flesh.

Where is the condemnation from the UN over this weapon. If the UN can not stop the violence, but simply criticize the good guys, we should withdraw from it. The United Nations has proved over and over again to be an impotent organization that is rife with corruption. It simply elevates the bad guys and restrains the good guys.

Dump the UN!

He told me this while snuggled on the couch with our dog (dirty animal) and munching on pork rinds (taboo).

Most of the Iraqis I know eat pork and drink alcohol. They're pretty laid-back people.

Please tell your husband I would like to see the ancient historical areas in his country someday. There's some fascinating stuff here.

So close and yet so far. (Sigh...)

TEL AVIV ROCKET ATTACK FEARED
ISRAEL RUSHES TO RAISE DEFENSES
By URI DAN in Jerusalem and ED ROBINSON and DAVID K. LI in New York

July 17, 2006 -- Hezbollah rockets yesterday killed eight Israelis in the strategic northern city of Haifa - amid new fears that the next round of missiles could be headed for Tel Aviv.

Officials believe Hezbollah is plotting to hit the country's second-biggest city, and worked through the night to install upgraded radar and radio systems that could detect an attack.

"They [Hezbollah] have got the missiles that can reach Tel Aviv," a senior defense official told The Post last night.

Defense sources believe that Hezbollah has long-range Zalzal missiles, which can reach Tel Aviv and deliver 132 pounds of explosives in each warhead. Tel Aviv, which has a population of 379,000, is about 120 miles south of the Lebanese border, just within the Zalzal's range.

The attacks on Haifa brought the Israeli death toll from Hezbollah attacks to at least 15.

"There is no intention at the moment to urge the residents of Tel Aviv to enter into bomb shelters or secure areas - but there is an intention to increase the awareness among residents," army spokeswoman Miri Regev said.

Fears of a Tel Aviv attack grew out of the Haifa assault, the deadliest against Israel since the five-day conflict with Hezbollah broke out along the Lebanese border last week.

The IAF spokesman added that the leaflet container was hit by a surface-to-air missile fired by Hizbulla and that the container accidentally scored a direct hit on a truck carrying a Katyusha launcher. He added that it appeared that one of the missiles bounced out of truck as a result of the impact and was launched in the direction of Beirut.

Sounds like someone from On High might be watching and assisting. lol. That could only happen in a Keystone Kops skit.

They expect us to walk right into the kill sack.

Enemies always conspire to their own defeat, it is written on he first page of the Third World General's Handbook.

You see a much safer game, from the Axis POV, than I do.

I steal all the oil, hold it for ransom, and if anything goes wrong, accept my 72 Virginians with a wave and hearty heigh-ho.

Might as well send the other martyrs forward, no sense robbing them of their whouris, and I do that in thine enemy's very own cherished words.

I wish our boy was off foreign soil.

I'm going to take a nap.

Back in a few.

I agree that a disproportionate response is an effective response - in warfare. In fact, a proportionate response is merely suicide.

I was merely picking nits on the counterfeit example. Would probably do so on the helium tank example too. : )

For a long time, I frustrated that Israel had not been sticking to their old promise to 100X back whatever was thrown at them. I'm happy to see them discard the naive and stupid PC approach to relations with their neighbors.
