I had slight misgivings about this for just a brief time until yesterday some loon was on the phone with one of the Networks screaming about how they were hostages . That completely changed my thinking about these unlucky folks.

Oh, I never had any misgivings. I really wonder about people who would vacation in Lebanon anyway. I can understand visiting Israel...but Lebanon, or Syria, or Jordan? For a vacation?

Particularly since Shep Smith has now arrived with his soap opera/Oprah Winfrey approach to the news.

They can have a war now. Shep has arrived.

UPDATE!

I just got off the phone with my daughter. She is in Jerusalem, staying in a vacant (but furnished) apartment that was loaned to Chabad by a family now in Europe. It's a very large apartment and she is sharing it with another family, her neighbors from Safed whose house was hit by rockets.

She said that if she is not able to return to Safed in the next few weeks, or if the attacks get close to Jerusalem, she will bring the kids to the U.S.

PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR PRAYERS! (see tagline for details)

FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel/Russian Jewry ping list.

Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.

I'm certain that Lebanese woman screaming Bush's fault, Bush's fault, Bush's fault was a card carrying Democrat. Probably voted for Kerry in the last election (absentee of course).

She seemed to have a copy of the DNC talking points she was "reading" from.

"Olmert is a surrender cheese-eating monkey"

Correction:

Olmert is a falafel-eating surrender monkey. Let's hope he proves us both wrong.

We can only hope. If that should happen the whole nature of this conflict would change in a nanosecond.

That's right. Plus Bibi is not afraid to use military force and that means there will be more likely to have peace.

It's simple.

Peace = War

Strong National Defense = Strength and Peace

The only thing that the Arabs understand is if you have strength and not afraid to use force when necessary.

There's nothing they disrespect more than a "dove". After all, look at what happened with Prime Minister Barak back in 2000. Wasn't he supposed to give us peace in the Middle East?

Barak is responsible for the eruption of al-Aqsa Intifada which resulted in 1,001 Israelis were killed (up to September 2004) and 6,700 were wounded.

You get a red x? It's a picture of Dick Cheney. I'll check the ref, because I see it.

Haha clever.

Let's hope we're wrong. But I doubt it.

The "beaten zone" of a modern artillery round is pretty substantial with the right ordinance. The artillery that is being pumped into the Hizzy zone is likely clearing corridors for advance. The air assets are probably targeted at the hardened targets. The more prep that they do, the fewer ground assets they will need to allocate when they do go in. Knowing Israel's intel network, I would bet that they have a pretty good idea where most of the mines are laid. Mines are not too hard to deploy but it IS time consuming when you want to conceal them well and to do it without being observed. The continuing bombardment also tends to keep their heads down.

o.m.g. turn to FNC. Shep Smith is on camera from Lebanon and he's actually ducking and dodging on camera, claiming he's under fire. It's hysterical.
