War is chaos and that is why it should be avoided. Unlike what the Dems say about plans, once the first shot is fired, all the planning goes out the window.

And, as you note, the answer to force is greater force, hopefully force so great that the aggressor will not consider war again. "Proportionate" force gives an advantage to the aggressor which they do not deserve, since initiating aggression is the real disproportionate act.
