Report: Israel gives Syria ultimatum
Ynetnews ^ | Saturday, July 15, 2006

London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat says Israel gave Syria 72 hours to stop Hizbullah’s activity, bring about release of kidnapped IDF troops. ‘Israel will not end military activity until new situation created that will prevent Syria, Iran from using terror organizations to threaten its security,’ newspaper quotes Pentagon official as saying Roee Nahmias

The London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Saturday that “Washington has information according to which Israel gave Damascus 72 hours to stop Hizbullah’s activity along the Lebanon-Israel border and bring about the release the two kidnapped IDF soldiers or it would launch an offensive with disastrous consequences.”

The report said “a senior Pentagon source warned that should the Arab world and international community fail in the efforts to convince

Syria to pressure Hizbullah into releasing the soldiers and halt the current escalation Israel may attack targets in the country.”

Al-Hayat quoted the source as saying that “the US cannot rule out the possibility of an Israeli strike in Syria,” this despite the fact that the Bush administration has asked Israel to “refrain from any military activity that may result in civilian casualties.”

'Hizbullah made the same mistake'

The report also mentioned that President George W. Bush has repeatedly put much of the blame for the recent escalation on Syria.

“It is no coincidence that the Hizbullah operation comes at a time when the international community is working to impose sanctions on Iran due to its nuclear program and settle the score with Syria by establishing an international court to try those behind the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri,” the Pentagon source said.

According to the source, Hizbullah made the same mistake as Hamas when it did not predict the ramifications of its actions and ignored the regional and international changes since the fall of Saddam Hussein.

The source said that Israel has indicated that it “will not end its military activity until a new situation is created that will prevent Syria and Iran from using terror organizations, such as Hamas and Hizbullah, to threaten its security.”

"Somehow I can't help but believe the real target is Iran."

The target is militant Islam....the lunatics it has launched against the world, and those who support them.

The enemy is a state of mind....the insane fanaticism of militant/pious Muslims who have been taught to believe that all "infidels" must be converted to Islam or enslaved if not murdered.

It's as simple as that..

Actually, that guy's "predictions" are nothing more exciting of what I call my own analysis of what might happen.

and I make no claim to be a prophet.

If Israel believes they can topple the Syrian regime, they'll go for it..but you can't do it from the air..you have to put boots on the ground...So, after eradicating the Syrian AF, expect to see tank columns moving out from the Golan Heights towards Damascus..

Is Hizbullah like Al Queda, spelled many different ways?

These are all worthless!

6/21/2005 In Germany there will be a Political change. The Man will step down, for the Woman to come.

Wow, that is a stunning prediction, coming a FULL MONTH AFTER Mekel was nominated, and with her party carrying a 20% lead in the polls over the other VERY UNPOPULAR candidate at the time.

He has a lot of other stuff on his posts that you can take or leave with a grain of salt.

People like you are a godsend for fortunetellers, atrology hawkers, palmreaders, etc. They make 100 vague predictions, using a little common sense savy, and then when 3 come true (sorta), people like you stand back in "utter amazement" at their "great powers".

Hmmm... let see, the Pope is old and in poor health, I'll predict "The Pope will soon pass into the eternal light". let see, there always some trouble beweing in the middle east... "There will be trouble in the Middle East". I just read where some country's economy is heading south - "Bad economonic times will manifest in Zaboto, people will murmur, blah, blah."

Oh really?! Then how do you explain him predicting Merkel's election, one month after she got the nomination and had a 20% lead in the polls. Hmmm? :)

He has some other predictions leading on from there that envisions global war involving Russia, China and all the Islamic forces against Europe and the US, which is pretty dark. Vatican wiped out - Mecca in return. Nuclear attacks in Asia - and all kinds of wild things. I hope he's way wrong.

But you're right - his current predictions are no longer as wacky as they might have sounded last year. I think we ARE going to have this trifecta war - just on the current geopolitics that one can calculate.

Good morning, Race....notice how all the Dems here have become deaf, dumb, and mute...guess Iraq is really now part of the War on Terror after all..

unintended consequence of all this mess in the middle East..the GOP gains seats in both Houses on Congress this November, and you'll see Jewish voters finally leave the Dem party in large numbers..

That was after what I posted, I have to admit it was freaky, BUT, I would like to see what he predicts NOW so it can be prepared, not read "what he predicted in the past"

Anyone got a link to what is claimed to be FUTURE from today?

Damn, I hope this is true.

I'd like to see Israel hit Assad & co real hard. Bomb the infrastructure to rubble - no lights or water for months in Damascus, & destroy every one of Assad's palaces. Put the SOB out on the street with his very angry people, & shortly we will see regime change in Syria.

Meanwhile, back on the Iraq/Iran border, the US needs to show a flurry of air & ground activity in the direction of Iran, So that Iran will think long & hard about getting any deeper into this conflict. A few sonic booms & some UAVs straying into Iranian airspace should get these cowards' attention.

The terrorists & their enablers only understand power & violence, so I hope Israel gives them a big dose of both.

Whoopy! He was getting up in age, very overweight and not in good shape health wise. When you "genius" makes a time constrained prediction like that on a 40 year old, then I'll give credit.

There's 164 pages of his stuff, together with online questions etc. There's also a pdf of just his responses that you can download - somewhere in the last 10 webpages.

I'm not a shill for the guy. My familiarity with this stuff has taught me that there is a certain hit rate - and then there are airballs - and sometimes the time of occurrence is way off. But the hits are not easily forecastable - as some people fanatically believe. They are very specific, naming an event and the players in a way that you can't just make up.

Some posters here believe that visions are impossible and complete BS. So be it. I'm not going to convince them otherwise.

But, for anybody who wants to make up their own mind, here's the link. Cheers.

Ok. I'll give you credit for predicting the sudden fall of Sharon too.

You know, I'm not going to convince you of whether this is real or not. But that's not important. Other readers of our mutual posts will make up their own minds. So, let me cheerfully beg out of this budding flame war, and wish you a good day.

We can also expect a lot more high alerts here in America. Too many Muslims see this as a crusade.

This is a situation that Iran cannot afford. If the government in Syria falls, a real possibility if it suffers yet another defeat to Israel, Assad and his puppetmasters are toast. A governmetn unfriendly to Iran will leave them completely isolated and in deep doo doo. However, Syria will not back off because that would result in a complete loss of face could also result in a regime change. If Israel escalates the conflict and takes it to Syria, Assad and co are toast. Either way, a nice result.

[The strong move against Judenrein Gaza was bound to excite other extremists. The move into Lebanon in response is virtually a move on Syria. Israel cannot get to the Bekaa Valley without an exposed right flank. Syria cannot lose Saddam's WMD there. So Syria will have to attack. They must be goaded to move prematurely. Then the US will move to neutralize terrorist camps in eastern Syria while Israel goes to Damascus.]

Good thinking and very possible indeed. Syria has been holding the weapons of mass destruction Saddam gave them in the Bekaa valley [during the President's foolish attempt to placate the peace hating United Nations and their national socialist base] and now Israel must get them before they use them to kill Israelites.
It may also be a good time to bomb Irans nuclear weapons production sites.
