Yeah, I don't think Iran wants to move against us. It would be a turkey shoot and a big time slaughter. They prefer to hole up in defensive positions, or at least they should. We could blow them out but they will rightly surmise that we wouldn't want to suffer the losses required.

God cannot positively will moral evil by definition, because moral evil is contrary to divine law, and divine law expresses the divine will.

The passage you cite from Isaiah is a reference to God creating physical evils, like earthquakes and floods.

The fact of the matter is that God created Satan, so ultimately all "evil" can be traced back to God's will.

God created Satan good, in fact, God created Satan as the highest of the angels. Satan freely chose to become evil.

Iran has 1,000,000 Shiite troops...If they moved into Iraq, many or most of Iraq would join them...And another possible million from Pakistan and Turkey...

Remember the "Highway of Death" out of Kuwait in GW1? Every road leading into Iraq would look like this within a few hours:

We're getting off-topic by a country mile here. If you want to continue, we should FReepmail.

At any rate, we have nothing to fear. God wins in the end.

No, you don't. You are intentionally pumping up what they said.

You claimed that Israel has information that the soldiers WILL be taken to Iran.

Regev said they had "concerns" about them being taken to Iran, and that the concerns had a "basis."

Meir said they had information that Hezbollah was "planning" to take them to Iran.

You don't have any interest in being accurate about what they are saying, as that doesn't allow you to hype the statements into something well beyond what has been stated. You made it clear what you want to do. You want to spin suspicion and educated speculation into a certainty. Sure, Israeli intel is good. But they aren't perfect, and not even they are making any statements with the certainty you are making them.

I'm done with this. You can sit here and cheerlead all you want, and whip up a frenzy all you want. Before you know it, 50 people here will be stating as FACT that they are en route to Iran, and link to you as the source. It is simply the way of things in times like this. I hope you are proud of your contribution.

I would like to ask all freepers that are on this thread whether they think America should get involved in this Israel v. Lebanon/Syria/possibly Iran war...if necessary.

I am not asking to start arguments between freepers...I just am wondering...I THINK I know how most freepers feel..but, I don't know.

So, if you don't mind...I'd like ya'll input.

When a natural disaster strikes and thousand are killed or displaced as homeless, the first words always expressed by people of faith are....

"IT'S GOD'S WILL!"

God does not desire destruction of his creation. He permits it to happen as a result of the physical world He created. But He's not manning the weather machine.

That's Karl Rove's job.

That is why I think we haven't done anything against Iran yet... From what I have read in history is when a facist regime loses power, they tend to take the nation down... Case in point Germany in WWII. In the end Hitler knew things where over, but he kept on fighting until he killed himself..

You seem to be saying that everything that happens is God's will. That is simply not true.

Ultimately, yes everything that happens is God's will. If he didn't want it to happen, he certainly has the power to stop it. And he is free to violate our free will at his leisure. Indeed, our ultimate deaths are entirely in the hands of God. We may will ourselves to live forever, but the time that we die has been appointed. Everyone who died in WWII died exactly at the time they were appointed to die. God was in control then and he is in control now. You will die on the date that God has appointed you to die. And so will I. Even if we commit suicide, we are not surprising God. If we succeed then that was our appointed day and hour.

Have the British promised to participate in such a plan? I highly doubt it.

"I think the reason why Iran is playing this game is the regime knows they are going down... I think they want to take the country down with them.."

I think Ahmadinejad thinks he is controlling the world right now. He considers it his job.

God created Satan good, in fact, God created Satan as the highest of the angels. Satan freely chose to become evil.

Then "Free will" is evil.

You're splitting hairs, give it a rest as you are detracting from the site, along with the other thread about God's Will. God save us.

Sure. I suppose he COULD, yet he does NOT because He has set in motion a set of physical and philosophical laws, the Great Watchmaker, if you will, and he lets things proceed as they will. Yet, it seems that he does sometimes intervene in human affairs. I simply am not bold enough to say I believe he "can" or "cannot" do anything.

"However, let a bomb go off over here.." Right now would be a perfect time for that to happen, wouldn't it? Bush at the G8 Summit. All attention is focused on Israel. Iran may be holding 2 hostages.

I hate to say it but that's what I've been silently dreading might happen for the past couple of days. I don't hear anything being said over here about being on alert or anything, yet, if this is the big push by Syria and Iran and all the spin-offs terrorist groups to try and wipe out Israel, what better way to distract Israel's guard dog (America) by creating total chaos over here by such a catastrophic event. I wish Homeland Security was taking a more active role right now to raise the population's awareness of the potential for attack. I also hope and pray that my anticipatory fears are totally without merit. Time will shortly tell.

You do mean that IRAN sent them to Israel....not the UN, right?

(Although not much would surprise me anymore)

I agree. Lebanon would not be an appropriate strategic target for Israeli nuclear weapons. Damascus and Tehran, however, that's a different matter altogether.

Pumping up what they said?

The examples you gave of what I said conform with what Israeli officials have said. Thanks for making my point, although for some reason you would prefer to be too obtuse to see it.

And I'm glad you're done with it. I'm quite proud of my contribution to Free Republic.
