Reports coming in about IAF striking Beruit airport, if this is confirmed this is another sizable escalation. I think this article ought to be pinned.
Last year I was all over Israel for forcibly removing Israeli settlers from Gaza. Man, was I misguided! Turns out it was all a setup. Israel can now carpet-bomb the place with impunity knowing that their own people have been vacated. And indeed Israel is now wrecking the place, big time.
My hat is off to Israel. Wow!
Bush said, very clearly after one of Abudiminijad's tirades, that we would not stand by and allow Israel to be annihilated.
If Iran moves, we move.
I am not close enough to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. to be able to tell for sure, but my hunch is Marine 1 made an unscheduled departure some hours ago.
W is wide awake and very much in motion.
Bush is going to Germany.

A few things after reading this thread and watching coverage the past few hours, and hearing radio broadcasts all day.
Keep in mind I'm only 18 years old, but I have never felt the world at such a tense moment. Even before the Iraq war in 2003, I have never felt like this: one thing can bring the whole world into war. It's funny how it's all connected.
Hamas elected->Israeli Soilders kidnapped by Hamas->Hezbollah attacks, kidnaps from Lebanon-> Israel attacks Lebanonese terrority-> Lebanon is supported by Syria, or at least was (but in reality still is a puppet of some sort of syria, even after the whole Hariri assisnation)->Iran supports Hezbollah->Iran is connected to North Korea through missle/nuclear(?) tech-> North Korea is starting to make some noise. Makes you wonder how connected these guys really are.
Finally, God save Israel.

Woman killed in rocket attack in Northern Israel..
JERUSALEM, July 13 (Reuters) - One Israeli civilian was killed on Thursday in a rocket attack from Lebanon on the northern Israeli city of Nahariya, medics said.
Bingo. And precisely why we're in Iraq is because we're in the middle of everything that might happen there. It's statergy, damnit.

err...they called up 600,000 today....
No way. If we entered on the side of Israel, the fallout in the Arab world, including Iraq, would be huge. You think oil prices are high now. Let us fight on behalf of Israel and you will see the world economy go south in a hurry. Israel can take care of itself. It really is Goliath when it comes to taking on its neighbors.
lol.. Could be, huh?
Here's the main site for Beirut Lebanon Rafic Hariri Int'l

This shot was under Tourist Info, they have a half dozen different shots of the city and airport there.
