Reports coming in about IAF striking Beruit airport, if this is confirmed this is another sizable escalation. I think this article ought to be pinned.

Iran and Syria need to be dealt with. We've been fin around in Iraq for too long and haven't been paying attention to what's going on over there.
If the Iraq War has taught us anything it's that occupatoin and nation building don't work. It's time to make Damscus and Tehran look like Berlin and Tokyo ca.1945.
There needs to be annihilation level force used, and fast.

"It is very difficult to taxi aircraft (military or civilian) over a wrecked runway."
But still leaving it completely usable for a helicopter bridge head. How convenient they are so close to the sea.

Wondering if Isreal might head East towards Damascus. This would be an interesting ploy. I personally don't think Syria has the stomach for war nor do I think they could stand up to the IDF.
There would likely be a division of US troops in Syria first if there were to be hostilities there. Aside from aerial incursions, I doubt there will be a single Israeli soldier who will step foot on Syrian soil no matter how deep things get. We've just got too much hardware on the ground there for us to let that happen.
The diplomacy afterward would be a nightmare.

For Fox to cover this story, their overnight staff must first locate Lebanon on a map.

From what I've seen, Egypt is a de facto mediator right now. Things can always change, particularly over there, but I sense that they'll hold off on making noise for some time.

Brit just did a story about global warming and how only 17% of Americans are deeply concerned about it.
Middle East instability is a million times more dangerous to the planet than global warming.

If Iran attacks Israel, look for simultaneous attacks on Tehran and Pyongyang by the U.S, Israel and Japan.

If Iran attacks Israel, dollars to doughnuts NK will blitskrieg SK and force us to choose who to help. Maybe China will go for the trifecta and launch a naval invasion of Taiwan... Ping

We are not going to step in regardless. We have no mutual defense pact with Israel. They can deal with Iran and Egypt.
