Let Asia deal with Kim Jong-Il (Buchanan)
WND ^ | July 8, 2006 | Pat Buchanan

Posted on 07/08/2006 8:22:06 AM PDT by duckln

That free fireworks display Kim Jong-Il put on for our benefit on July Fourth may prove to have been the best day George Bush has had since Zarqawi went to his eternal reward.

For years, Bush has been trying to persuade world opinion that Kim is a psycho who cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons. By firing off all those rockets into the Sea of Japan, Kim went a long way toward convincing a hung jury that Bush may have a point. Kim has also provided compelling evidence that missile defense may not be such a silly right-wing idea after all.

Pat was very pleased that one of those Jooooooz was kidnapped in Israel.

Completely out of line. Why don't you take your shtick somewhere else.

Everybody please cool it.

I will stack up freepers like cordwood if necessary to keep this thread from becoming a flamewar.

Respectful disagreements are healthy. And I'll be the judge of what's respectful.

Pat's answer to everything, stick your head in the sand. The Republican Party owes Pukeannan since he single handedly destroyed the Reform Party.

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters

No, Pat IMO is somewhere between 'stick your head in the sand' and 'jumping into quick sand'. He's a qualified debater that been in the forefront of conservatism for more than your lifetime.

Here's another 'hit and run insulter' (bray).

I didn't post this to be insulted by indirect ad hominid attacks (Pukeannan). Should I have ignored posters who disrupt and attempt to highjack my thread?

As I read Pat's article, he thinks that W is doing the right
thing in North Korea. What do you think?

Don't expect an answer.

Pat writes a column about North Korea; and the Pat Haters want to hijack it and make it about Israel and Antisemitism.

They never want to talk about what's good for the USA; it doesn't interest them.

I think Pat is right about this. The justification for our having troops in South Korea is long gone.

BTW, why is Russia not concerned about NK nukes?

I'm more concerned about what this means for Japan rather than for South Korea. Japan is a strategic partner for the US, not so much South Korea.

As I read Pat's article, he thinks that W is doing the right thing in North Korea.

Not quite. He said the President did the right thing, not "is doing." Pat agrees with the President only insofar as the President does nothing...not a realistic attitude in the 21st century (or even the 20th), but fine for the 19th.

I trust the President and his judgment, especially since he has better information than me about the capabilities of the rocket, not because of any haphazard reading of history by the likes of Buchanan.

Any agreement between Buchanan and the proper course of action is purely coincident.

If you are referring to me, I will kindly invite you to go to hell.

...hijack it and make it about Israel and Antisemitism.

Only because Pat is all about Israel and anti-Semitism.

"Only because Pat is all about Israel and anti-Semitism."

Thank you for pointing out the obvious!

It is clear to any right-thinking person that Pat's stance toward NK is rabid antisemitism at it worst!

Everyone knows that Pat's favoring withdrawal of troops from South Korea is just his way of secretly supporting the withdrawal of IDF forces from Palestine.

Thank you for pointing this out so that we can continue to expose Pat as the demonic antisemite that he continues to be!

/sarcasm

"I'm more concerned about what this means for Japan rather than for South Korea. Japan is a strategic partner for the US, not so much South Korea."

Well, Japan already has to deal with China and Russia, both nuclear powers. Would NK as a nuclear power make that much difference?

What I find puzzling is the Russian attitude. China & NK are both commies. But why isn't Putin upset about having a crazy, third world dictator with Nuclear bombs right on his doorstep?

Your obsession with Pat has long become boring and pathetic.

Too bad you hate Pat and don't care to comment on any issue that affects the USA and doesn't involve the middle east.

But frankly, who cares? I don't.

Why don't you leave and start a thread about WW II, and talk about Pat and what happened 60 years ago? I'm sure Uncle Leo would be interested.

I still see the threat as NK trading missiles/nukes for oil etc, not NK attacking the US. NK gives weapons to Islamic countries, which somehow fall into the nhands of terrorists... That's my worry. There is an Axis of Evil, but it's even larger than the President spoke of. China/Pakistan/Iran/NK...

Come on, Pat's not an anti-Semite. He just hates Jews.

Japan should be given nuclear weapons - in a very public way.

if their people won't stand for it because of their "Hiroshim complex" - tough. I say to the Japanese, if you don't want to get nuked a third time by NK, get some nuclear weapons fast.

Exactly. And it's part of the reason we need to keep our guys over there. The chicoms want control of the sealanes/trade routes. The free world can't afford for that to happen.
