TRENTON, N.J. -- An agreement has been worked out that will result in a new budget for the state of New Jersey, sources told NewsChannel 4 on Thursday.

Gov. Jon Corzine and lawmakers are still hammering out details on how to spend the penny sales tax increase. Indications are at least half the revenue will go for property tax relief this year with larger amounts going for property tax relief in later years.

If lawmakers can begin acting on this deal, Atlantic City casinos could be open sometime this weekend and full state services would resume as early as Monday.

and extending the sales tax to currently untaxed items.

Gym memberships and sleeping in a hospital bed to name just two. The sheeple of Jerzee get hosed again. The corruption is so deep I'm not sure we will ever get out of it.

Such a shock. Corzine was always going to get his way. I am very glad I don't live in New Jersey.

The tax increase is all about funding pensions for state workers. There was no other reason. The Governor promised the unions at the rally and he has carried out that promise.

No previous promises to real taxpayers need be fulfilled.

Well, I live in New Jersey and I resent Corzine's tantrum-taking attitude. New Jersey is finished.

and that "property tax relief" is just another way to pay off the NJEA - so the sheeple don't see the full impact of their school tax hikes.
