Army?
|
Navy?
|
Why did you choose that particular branch?
|
Where did you go to Basic Training or Boot Camp?
What is the name of your unit? (Division?)
What is their (your) mascot?
Tell us how much you loved your DI!
How long were you at Boot Camp/Basic Training, before you questioned the parentage of the senior Drill Sergeant? How long were you in service before you realized that the instructors were right in all that they taught you? |
Your first landing on an aircraft carrier Your first parachute jump The heaviest vehicle you got to drive The largest weapon you got to use Did you serve before email? Did you have a personal nickname? |
It is our pleasure and honor to be here for our Troops, past, present and future... and especially during this Week, the 4th of July we remember that we owe our freedom to you. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, and God bless you.
A gentle reminder from Ms.B: Please, no politics in The Canteen. The Troops need a place to rest, relax and relate, and that place is The Canteen. Have fun and play nice! |

Carlos Oliva is truly and not only a gentleman but also a gentle soul besides being an excellent entertainer, singer and musician. He is the leader of a musical group in Miami named, "Carlos Oliva Y Los Sobrinos Del Juez" or "Carlos Oliva And The Judge's Nephews."
His site can be viewed, - Here!
He has humbly and kindly, without prodding or hesitation, donated his music for the benefit of the troops. He supports the troops and their mission.
This special presentation is not only to and for Carlos Oliva but BY Carlos Oliva.
I, Free Republic, the Canteen and I'm sure, the troops THANK YOU, Carlos! We can't thank you enough. The simple gesture of donating your music is worth more than the music to us.
When you pray for the troops tonight please say a small prayer for Carlos.
We proudly present the music of
"Mr. Carlos Oliva And The Judge's Nephews!"
FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT: Showing support for and boosting the morale of our military and our allies' military, the family members of the military and all of their supporters, everywhere. Honoring those who have served before. |

IMO, it's just not for the world's Islamo-fascists and others to see on a public board.

(Have you hugged a soldier today? Try it, you'll like it.)
Can I take a moment of seriousness here?
Ive always felt odd about being in the canteen because Ive often felt that we were here to honor active duty personel.
But the truth is that active duty types have no time to hang out here.
That doesnt mean I dont care about those in the wake, but I want to say thank you all those who are serving in diminished capacities.
There are millions of us that serve in on regard or another. civilian or reserve.
I salute you all
