Sir Elton John has slammed the England football team as a "disgrace" after Portugal knocked them out of the World Cup on Saturday.
The Don't Go Breaking My Heart singer made his feelings public when he made his comments during a gig in Bournemouth, hours after the quarter-final match finished.
John, who is friends with David Beckham, attributed most of the blame to coach Sven Goran Eriksson.
He told the sell-out crowd, "There has not been an outstanding player at this World Cup. I do not even want to talk about that f**king Sven Goran Abba-dabba.
"As always the England fans have been fantastic. They have been let down by the team and let down by people earning GBP125,000 a week.
"It's a disgrace."
dis·grace (ds-grs) KEY
NOUN:

1. To bring shame or dishonor on: disgraced the entire community.
2. To deprive of favor or good repute; treat with disfavor: (i.e. The family was disgraced by the scandal).
" f**king Sven Goran Abba-dabba."
ROTFLMAO!
Elton should ease up and think about all the people whose feelings would've been hurt if England had beaten them... /sarcasm
LOL. That was pretty funny. My thought is "why don't you get your big fat butt out there and play if you think you can do better."
They wont let Gays on the team.
Hey Elton, the world doesn't care that you got snubbed by Sven! (pure conjecture, just having fun).
Elton wants to talk about how much money people make?
Elton: 'I Like Flowers'
"Of course I'm not saying that spending £293,000 on flowers in 20 months is indicative of restraint or budget-conscious housekeeping. But, truly, if you were as rich as Elton John, would you feel the need for either? Far from seeing anything to sneer at in his response to the question, '£293,000 on flowers alone; is that possible?' - the disarming, 'Yes, I like flowers' - I find it positively engaging. He's not trying to justify his excess - why should he? - he is just trying to explain it. However much money he spent, it was his money. Moreover, actually taking pleasure from spending it is something to be admired not denigrated. "
I authored an FR thread many years ago about the Elton John performance depicted in that photo. Eventually, the guys stripped out of their Cub Scout uniforms down to black thongs. Joining John on stage was George Michael, fresh out of a SoCal pokey for cruising in a public Hollyweird restroom.
The show was a fundraiser for Stonewall, a UK gay-rights group, whose current campaign was lowering the age of consent to 16.
If anyone's a disgrace, it's Sir Elton -- to the world of fashion. Oh yeah, I went there. ;)
i guess no invitation for soap on a rope in the team shower, for lady elton.
Dare I ask what he was singing?
Well, as disgraces go, Elton would certainly know one when he sees it.
He wasn't singing, he was playing the pink oboe..
he is serious....not he wont let any UK soccer player pass his goal till they get better.
What's the World Cup? Is it important?
No it isn't important. But it's fun.
National disgrace was suffered by this nation when this prancing prince was knighted.
"It's a Sin," a Pet Shop Boys hit.
