WASHINGTON (CNN) -- North Korea tested at least two missiles early Wednesday but has not fired the long-range Taepodong-2 rocket Western observers suspect has been readied for launch, U.S. sources told CNN. Both missiles were launched from a site other than the one intelligence officials have watched for weeks ahead of a possible long-range missile test, a senior State Department official said.

It was done DELIBERATELY on the Fourth of July (our time).
This is one big Kim Jong il middle finger extended to the USA.
He has done this just a few hours within our own Space Shuttle Launch.
It was a SIX MINUTE FLIGHT.
Prime Ministers office into Emergency Mode now. Japan Defense Agency attempting to confirm the two launches.

We now have a policy of preemptive strikes with out current administration. Are we not smarter to take out their capabilities before they test fire a missile into Hawaii?
On top of that, is not NK breaking treaties, UN resolutions (yes I know, a joke) etc by testing these missiles? While I understand it would be an act of war, sometimes you've got to hit first before the enemy has the capability to hit you hard.

I know it is not a good scenario for us to hit first and I fully understand the ramifications of doing so.
But again, do we want to give a nutcase like their leader the ability to build an arsenal that can hit our country/allies without doing anything?

Yes, we had treaties with NK, ones our wonderful previous administration signed with them. Those worthless pieces of paper in which we gave NK the ability to develop nukes on their word they wouldn't use them.

exactly right.
the only way to stop that - is a wholesale nuclear attack on north korean military assets. some pinprick attack to take out one missile, will only make things worse.

FOX TV into quite a juvenile shouting match among talking heads, rather than cold, clear, factual, deep/knowledge based analysis. It is unfortunate tabloid emotionalism. Is anyone watching it? It is ridiculous.
