From the New York Times' stockholders meeting:
2006 Annual Meeting of Stockholders
April 18, 2006
New York, New YorkArthur Sulzberger, Jr.
Chairman, The New York Times Company
Publisher, The New York TimesJanet L. Robinson
President and Chief Executive Officer,
The New York Times CompanyArthur "Pinch" Sulzberger:
Good morning. I am Arthur Sulzberger, Jr., Chairman of The New York Times Company. Welcome to our annual meeting and thank you for your interest in our Company...
<Much self-congratulatory back-patting snipped.>
As Bill Keller told our newsroom yesterday as our Pulitzers were awarded: Prizes don't always say anything terribly important about the state of our business, but [t]his year's Pulitzers do, and what they say is: the country has never needed us more than it does today.
Amen.
How's that for chutzpah?
Arrogant traitor Pinch gets that sometimes while cruising his beloved gay bar scene.
Anyone who thinks Bush isn't handling this properly needs to see these kinds of quotes.
The NYT is squirming.
If the NYT burned down tonight the country would be much better off. (Not that I would advocate such a thing, of course).

Is he gay?
The New York Times:
Can't do enough to protect evil terrorists
AND
Didn't seem to do much when innocents were dying by the millions

And yes, there was a Sulzberger at the helm at that time as well.
I see you are a student of journalistic history.
Lest we forget (and you surely know) it was Pulitzer who started "Yellow Journalism." With the cartoon figure you posted.
But man, how far the media has declined since those "Yellow Journalism" days.
Still, it's no wonder the NTY and WaPo win so many Pulitzers, given the origins of the prize.
"Is that the Rosenbergs I see there, too? How nice of them to attend."
As you will recall, the KGB's cover name for Julius was "Liberal."
"cover name for Julius was "Liberal."
A fitting name...
GREAT thread...thanks for posting!
"And yes, there was a Sulzberger at the helm at that time as well."
What their ignoring of the holocaust (and anti-Semitism in general) and their current support of terrorism may have in common is that they are self-loathing Jews.
They didn't want the NYT to seem "too Jewish." They wanted to be WASPs.
Now, they have gone so far as to be almost as anti-Semitic as the BBC. And of course they support the very Hitlerian world-view of the Muslims.
I don't think it is an accident.
Pinch is so gay, he menstruates. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Civil society has declined. Did that happen without the help of the leftist media? No.
Yellow journalism combined with hatred for conservative values and anti-Americanism will destroy this country.
"so gay, he menstruates"
Oh, man, I was just gonna get something to eat. Now I can't.
What country is he referring to?
Great great list of links. Thanks!!
"the country has never needed us more than it does today."
What country is he speaking of?
Definitely Iran and probably North Korea. Syria is too much of a piker.
