Evidently, the widows' sins are that they pushed for an independent commission to investigate 9/11 intelligence failures, they are critical of the Bush administration, and they endorsed John Kerry for president.

The crux of Ann's argument is that people like Leonard Pitts take quotes from certified victims as if they came from the Burning Bush. It is Holy Writ and therefore beyond criticism. The 9/11 Commission is not an unvarnished 'good'. It is, in part, a extra-governmental political platform for former Clinton officials to carry the water for the next Democratic presidential nominee (guess who?).
