My letter to the Treason Times (Vanity)

Dear Treason Times,

I see that once AGAIN you have published classified information regarding efforts to track down terrorists. This time, you've blown the lid off an operation that was tracking the banking transactions of people suspected of having terrorist ties.

I understand the First Amendment, and freedom of speech. But I also know that I cannot just yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater, because I might put lives at risk. What you REFUSE to see is that when you publish this kind of information, you put lives at risk. Indeed, you are giving aid to the enemy... and everyone who reads your paper or website is a witness to your crimes.

Today, I hear that 7 people have been arrested in Miami for plotting a terrorist attack against the Sears Tower. Tell me, Treason TImes... if you had gotten information about the investigation of these people in its early stages, would you have published it? I'm CERTAIN that you would have.

It has become blatantly obvious to most of America that when you do this, you don't care about the damage you might cause. You don't care about the lives that might eventually be lost because of your actions.

So tell me, Treason Times.. why do you do it? Why do you betray the American people and put our lives at risk? Do you do it for the money? Are you hoping to boost your sales? Is that it? Is it greed? Or do you do it because you hate the Bush administration, and want to try and hand them a failure in the war on terror? Or are you just SO STUPID that you've forgotten what happened on 09/11/2001?

I've called my congressman and asked that something be done about your particular brand of treason.

I am strating to think that someone in the white house is playing the NY Times like a fiddle. I think this information is being leaked to smoke out terrorists and those leaking national security secrets.

Dear AAF, I'd like to think that the letters written to the NYT and other rags about their treasonous behavior would prick some consciences and change things but the truth is, they hate conservatives more than they love their country. They will never relent as long as the conservatives are in power. I commend you for caring enough to pitch a dart their way.

Perhaps, you are right but I'd rather be called 'stupid' than a 'traitor'. But then again, libs have no problem with being called Godless.

If you haven't already had this letter published, you may wish for the moderator to take this thread down.

I once submitted a letter to the editor and then put the submission FR. I got a letter (e-mail) back from the editor saying they couldn't publish my letter because it was plagarized from the internet from a web site called Free Republic.

I tried to explain that I was Peach on Free Republic but they had no way of verifying that of course, and so refused to publish the letter.

Major newspapers use the same software that colleges use to ensure kids aren't writing papers off the net.

I think this story was given to the media with the administration's permission, as Stuart Levey, an under secretary at the Treasury Department, revealed details of the program to the NYT.

I wouldn't think he would let them use his name if he wanted to clandestinely release secret information.

Honestly, I doubt the NYT would publish this if it weren't already on the web. But I DID send them the letter... I know they don't care what middle America thinks, but just MAYBE somebody there will realize that I can't be the only person who feels this way.

If I did think it had a chance of being published, I would change "Treason Times" to "New York Times", just so it didn't turn off any "moderate" people who might read it.

It's ironic that the New York Times and MSM have stated that showing video grabs or photos of the World Trade Center being struck...innocent people jumping to their deaths rather than buring alive...are deemed too insensitive or too inciteful.

They also droned on for weeks and months about the supposed "outing" of Valerie Plame as a covert CIA agent (which to this day has never been proven).

Yet...they have no problem feeling compelled to divulge top secret classified programs the government uses in trying to ensure we don't suffer more terrorist attacks on our population.

IMHO, they should be arrested and tried for treason during wartime.

The leftist MSM is the enemy of our nation. Their hatred of Conservatism and the doctrine of accepting personal responsibility is anthema to the idea of Freedom of the Press. (I hope that's the correct usage of "anathema").
