The Canadian Tourism Commission wants to attract same-sex couples to Canada.

The agency has launched an advertising blitz in the United States to woo gay couples to tie the knot in Canada.

I encourage Americans to write as well. You just know American gay couples will use this to get their unions acknowledged by American courts.

All this stuff to please the gay community and there is no guarantee that they will still love you in the morning. More important, as you implied, Canada pandering to the gay community will be disrespected by many cultures and religions. From Arab Islamic to American evangelical it will be seen as a sign of a collective character weakness. It is one thing to tolerate a behavior, it is an entirely different matter to encourage it or profit from it.

You know, it is very simple. Yes I have a concern with border security and I am not sure that Canada is doing their fair share. But the gay stuff is really not very complex. For some reason all these gay stories keep coming up involving Canada. Most are amusing but as I have said before I think the stories really undermine the image of Canada in these very dangerous times.
Your irritation with me is the direct result of your own rigidity. You realize, of course, if you just simply said I am really unhappy and embarrassed with the way the gay file is being handled in Canada, all my power to irritate you would instantly disappear.
