This is fraudulent. At the heart of the Pence plan is amnesty. Illegal aliens here return to Mexico for one week with an assurance they can come back to their jobs. Down there, they visit "Ellis Island Centers" to register as "guest workers" and return with "work permits." The illegal are made legal and put on a path to citizenship.
The only difference between the Pence plan and the Kennedy-Bush amnesty is the one-week vacation employers would happily fund, as it means blanket amnesty for them as well as their illegal hires.

One thing the Pence plan is doing is squeezing those who think it's too radical into the far right-wing fringe, to join Tancredo and Buchanan.
They will be ignored in the upcoming conference discussions.

Too bad there weren't more Pat Buchanan types around back when all those Irish illegally immigrated to this country and sucked the teat of the public welfare for years. Buchanan is right on target. Bush, McCain and the other status quo politicos in DC are globalists of the first order. The America we all grew up in, the America created by our Founding Fathers is disappearing with each passing year. If the Feds have their way, one day Americans will wake up to find themselves living in a third world environment. Some folks believe that transformation has already started. A sad commentary on contemporary America.

Suppose Pence's plan isn't passed. What's to stop an illegal alien from going back to Mexico and applying for citizenship under any of the plans you consider better alternatives.
Nothing, but the application process takes years and there is no guarantee that they will get in. If there is any record of them having entered the US illegally, they won't get in period.
Besides, Pence's plan requires the enforcement provisions be passed first. I still don't see how his plan is an amnesty. Where do you see Pence's plan?
Because it allows people who have illegally entered our country, used false SS numbers, and may be guilty of identity theft to go outside the country for a week, be processed, and allowed back in to work and eventually apply for citizenship. It legalizes their illegal status and they pay no penalty for violating our laws. They are bypassing the people who applied to come here legally. Where does it say that the eforcement provisions must be passed first?

No, but the result is the same as far as amnesty is concerned. Both Pence and the supporters of the Senate bill both state that their plans don't reward lawbreakers and is not amnesty, yet they do.

I've seen his idea of cheering on. When our troops took out that nest of vipers in Pakistan a few months ago buchanan wrote about how they had killed innocent women and children...never once did he mention the bad guys who were the target. Not once.
So what would I say if he showed up in Iraq? There's the terrorist sympathizing SOB...let's get him.
Pat Buchanan was right on this issue years ago, and he was crucified for it. He's still right, but the Bush worshipers refuse to believe that Mr. Bush could be wrong about anything.
And the years and investment legitimate applicants must endure to obtain citizenship provide the definition of what's amnesty and what isn't.
By Pence's own standards 90% or more of these people are barred anyway (false documentation), so the whole "express window" idea is revealed to be nothing more than another attempt to "pool the vool oafer our ice" (thanks, Arnold) for the benefit of the cheap labor contributors.

Buchanan has made it clear from the beginning that he is not in favor of the Iragi War. He has his reasonsd which BTW I do not agree with. So he's just being consistent, by not cheering on the troops. Oh please, oh please don't persecute me for stating this, oh kind elite poster. I'm not being paid to take one side of the issue.
Your comparison was what was silly, it would have been totally inconsistent for him to do what you stated. And you would have condemned him for it, and you know it.

I've been trying to ask you unsuccesfully over the last week or so if you would be willing to comprimise with the Pence bill or if you are sticking with the Senate bill.
Unlike the Bush amnesty, there is NO path to citizenship under the Pence bill.
Dane doesn't like to talk about the Pence plan for some reason. I think it is because he is being stubborn about supporting the Bush amnesty and doesn't want to admit it.
