MSNBC's "Weekends with Maury & Connie" is being cancelled, TVNewser has learned. The program, hosted by Maury Povich and Connie Chung, will end its run next week. The husband and wife team taped their second-to-last show on Friday.
"Weekends" launched almost exactly six months ago, on January 7, 2006. It launched to quite a bit of fanfare, and it aired four times a weekend (twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday) but it never seemed to find an audience. There's no word on whether Maury, Connie, or EP Lizz Winstead will have a future role at MSNBC...
LOL!!!!
How `bout those pix this morning (12 June) on the Imus a.m. horror show? Apropos of nothing, Connie is on the floor clinging to Imus' leg as he attempts to exit a glass double door.
She gazes upward at him lovingly, longingly.
McGuirk remarks, "What is this, the fall of Saigon!?"
I missed that...I have a vague and fleeting knowledge of who Imus is.
I agree....
Could have possibly been the worst show in the history of cable news. On weekend mornings I would turn on PMSNBC, and listen to it while on the Internet because they have news on, and I don't care for Fox's weekend morning shows. When that tripe started running I would turn the channel, I couldn't even stand hearing it while being on the computer.
Oooooh, put some ice on that, Connie. LOL
"I never knew this show even existed. Anonymity, thy name is MSNBC."
Some wise guy said that Connie & Maury might as well have been in the Witness Protection Program. LOL!
Good line - I'm laughing too.
