Zarqawi, Spinning in His Grave
New York Sun ^ | June 8, 2006 | Ryan Sager

Posted on 06/08/2006 12:32:31 PM PDT by Roscoe Karns

Right now, I'm in the media room at YearlyKos, listening to liberal bloggers and activists fret about how to spin the killing of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Some snippets:

"We are constantly bashed on the right for not supporting the military." "We can't say 'yes, but'." As in, yes it's good Zarqawi is dead, but . . .

"Why have we not gotten Osama?"

"Zarqawi is not about Iraq." As in, the real reason we wanted him dead was the USS Cole bombing.

"We're talking to the 98 percent of the unwashed who don't know what the Cole is." In response to above.

"If we'd followed Clinton's anti-terrorism plan, we would have gotten Zarqawi years ago." As in, without going into Iraq.

"If you keep looking for someone long enough, you'll find him."

Nope. No way to spin this one.

""On this day in 632, Muhammad, the founder of Islam, died in Medina."

Oh, my, my...coincidence?"

No, but all the more reason to celebrate this day!

How about this one:

3. US Air Force cannot account for two missing 500 pound bombs; Reid and Pelosi call for congressional investigation.

The Democrats, liberals and the MSM really dropped the ball on this one.

Their mistake has been in allowing this huge (Zar man) news story to both be and to stay immense in an otherwise vacant news period. Where is that Clinton timing in media management anymore anyway?

What should they have done differently in anticipating this....well for starters

1. Patches could have crashed another car in a prominent DC location (Tidal Basin perhaps).

2. Cindy Sheehan appears in North Korea to take a train ride with another of her favorite dictators.

3. Pelosi goes to court demanding the return of Rep Jefferson's walk-in freezer that had been discovered and removed from his office by the FBI.

4. Rep. Murtha personally flies an airbus over to Iraq to load up troops at gunpoint forcing them to return home.

5. Jim McDermott sues the government over the phone surveillance by the NSA.

The RATS really do not have a working agenda like the old days.

The Daily K O S people are pathetic. As is the move on crowd. As is the DLC. As is the DCC. As are the DUers. They're all a pathetic bunch.

Hey I wonder if this had happened two days ago if they would have yelled, "Bush waited until Election Eve!!!" BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

With apologies to Peggy Lee:

It's a godo day for singing a song
And it's a good day for dropping a bomb
And it's a good day for saying so long.
Yes, it's a good day from morning till night.

I can hear Zarqawi now saying< "Where are my virgins? I was promised virgins! If I don't get my virgins I'm going to blow something up!"

"They put their desire for power way ahead of what's good for Iraq, the US, or the world."

Honestly, what do the libs think is going to happen if they just acknowledge this was a good thing? It's not like they're winning elections by landslides and have to fear losing their gains.

"What about the high cost of college? What about the potholes on the streets? What about the "Culture of Corruption?" What about Halliburton? Abu Ghraib? Iran? Scooter Libby? Domestic spying? ..."

Not to mention the cancellation of the "Commander-in-Chief" tv series...
