Right now, I'm in the media room at YearlyKos, listening to liberal bloggers and activists fret about how to spin the killing of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
Some snippets:
"We are constantly bashed on the right for not supporting the military." "We can't say 'yes, but'." As in, yes it's good Zarqawi is dead, but . . ."Why have we not gotten Osama?"
"Zarqawi is not about Iraq." As in, the real reason we wanted him dead was the USS Cole bombing.
"We're talking to the 98 percent of the unwashed who don't know what the Cole is." In response to above.
"If we'd followed Clinton's anti-terrorism plan, we would have gotten Zarqawi years ago." As in, without going into Iraq.
"If you keep looking for someone long enough, you'll find him."
Nope. No way to spin this one.
Must mean they're really talking about changing the subject then.
And it's tough to change the subject back to what this all interrupted.
An honest admission of how they view their constituency.
"This just in: Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is still dead!"
That's next on the ChickenNoodleNetwork, with Paula Zahn this afternoon...I kid you not!!
Well, they were two 500 pound bombs going off... I figure he'd still be spinning if the soldiers hadn't stopped him to see who he was.
This is the spin at the NY Times today:
A Leader Is Eliminated, but Insurgency Is Likely to Carry On
Sad, but true. There's a whole 'nother world out there, I got away from it and I ain't never going back.
INTERESTING STRATEGY from DAILY KOS:
Zarqawi was quite probably a psy ops job in the first place, so what does that make his "death"?
Keep your eyes on the prize:
Gay marriage?
Haditha.
Flag burning?
Haditha!
Brangelina?
HADITHA!
Zarqawi?
HADITHA!!!

IT WILL BE THE MEDIA'S STATEGY AS WELL.
Make the cinders dance!
THe most common complaint from these lunatics is that the Haditha story will be pushed to the background.
Very excellent!
It looks like C-Span is up to its usual tricks, giving coverage today to a lefty former school teacher who organized the Kos Convention in Los Vegas. Asked why Vegas, and she said the whole city was unionized so Vegas was an excellent spot for the Kos convention.
It appears that C-Span is going to provide wall to wall coverage of these nutcases. Yes, C-Span is completely neutral in its coverage.
Brian Lamb has lost his marbles.
Is that what they named the kid?
LOL. The NYT, doing the job even the lefty moonbats at Kos realize they can't do.
"If we'd followed Clinton's anti-terrorism plan."
Oh, they must mean the"never catch, and do not accept captured terrorists in foreign hands" plan. Billy certainly did that very thing with Sudan's offer to turn over OBL to the US. Clinton not only did not have a plan, he failed to do anything serious about any of the pre- 9/11 terrorist acts. He even prohibited the various US anti-terrorist agencies from divulging or sharing information about terrorists with one another. Whatta joke the liberal bloggers are, as well as ignorant of recent history!
DUnno. But, they think they won with Abu Ghrib (sp), and the think they'll win with Haditha.
You arrogant, ignorant little pansy men. You followed Clinton's "anti-terrorism" plan...and missed getting Bin Ladin four times. What we needed ten years ago was to treat terrorists like enemy soldiers, not namby-pamby them like jaywalkers who deserved a ticket that we were too indecisive to even write.
They missed these:
Yes, you got Zarqawi, but the cost of health care is still high....
OK, so Zarqawi is gone but the deficit is still out of control....
So what if Zarqawi is dead? The price of gas is still high.
What about the high cost of college? What about the potholes on the streets? What about the "Culture of Corruption?" What about Halliburton? Abu Ghraib? Iran? Scooter Libby? Domestic spying? ...
