Could there have been a better headline waiting for me when I wiggled the mouse* and the computer came to life this morning? Well ... maybe that Osama Bin Laden has been staked to a bed of fire ants ... but this is almost as good. Ab Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, is DRT after an air raid north of Baghdad.
Really ... this doesn't take much commentary, except to say a "well done" to our men and women in uniform fighting Islamic terrorism in Iraq. It is worth noting that it was tips from Iraqi civilians who led security forces to Al-Zarqawi's location. They wanted him gone as much as we did.
One more thing ... how long will it be before some leftist or Democrat steps forth and starts whining about how many civilians were killed in the raid that sent al-Zarqawi to hell.
By the way ... just what are Zarqawi's buddies like John Murtha, Howard Dean, John Kerry and Michael Moore going to do now? Who will fax them their talking points?

The leftists already are saying that Z's demise will make no difference, troops will remain in Iraq, someone will take his place, AQ ratted him out anyways - so no big deal, blah blah blah...
The plaintive cries of "We still didn't get Bin Laden" are on the way.....before long, someone close to him will give him up, as happened to Zarqawi....

That is about as much proof and confirmation I need that al-Zarqawi is really dead.

Did you hear the question by the NYTimes reporter at the Iraqi press conference? The reporter asked if Zarqawi was dead when the forces entered the area. (or words to that effect) My first thought when he said this was that he was setting a scene where the US forces would have personally finished him off -- in cold blood, so to speak.

I went to DU. Unbelievable. First they didn't believe it. Then it was trash about how it doesn't matter, what about bin Laden, when is it over, whine, whine, cry, cry, moan, moan.
And many of them were bemoaning the fact that this will bolster nationalism.
I can't believe those people stay in this great nation. P*ss on them. And P*ss on the grave of Zarqawi, may he be buried with a pig in his arms.
