The fact that this murdering troop has the support of even those 119 posters is worrisome. Surely, nobody should defend the indefensible based on some false notion of patriotism. That is one heck of a claim to make. I'll make another.
The fact that this child-molesting author has the support of even 10 parents is worrisome. Surely, nobody should defend the indefensible based on some false notion of friendship.
Do you see the similarities Ms. Heard. You can say lots of fun things if you don't care to justify them. Here's another:
The communist supporting, America hating, Palestinian loving, terrorist empathizing author was unavailable for comment.
Oh, wait, that isn't made up!

I think she inferred that from some of the posts.
I saw a few posts which said as much.

And that is why we must never let them win the Congress in this year elections, we must forget all our differences no matter how big they are and keep our majority in Congress. The alternative is unthinkable.

There are way too many linda Hurd's around...they proliferate like flies on a dead skunk - in this case the corrupt and bloated Murtha.

Liberals always take an incident and make it a rule. If we follow the logic or illogic of this dumb writer than we must have fifty of these incidents a day but since it only happened once or a handful of times at the most during 3 years presence of our troops in Iraq then these are simply incidents and I am amazed that these incidents are that few, it is telling us about the incredible discipline of our troops.

""Oddly, none of them displayed any hint of disquiet over the behaviour of the Marines under investigation. Rather, their outrage was reserved for John Murtha and yours truly. ""
Yeah, don't let an investigation get underway, just call em murderers. After all all Marines are murderers, eh, Mizz Heard??
Mizz Heard, you are a vile contemptable human being. Thank you for your opinion, based purely on hatred.
To: Coop
"A few of his co-posters rushed to the website of Murtha's Republican challenger Diana Irey to donate campaign funds."
Yep, you're right. I did go to Irey's site and donate money. Hell I even went to the Persian Gulf and donated some of my life back in 87-88, in order EARN the right to donate my f'in money to anyone I damn well please. Hell, I even did it to defend your right to spew your fetid Barbara Streisand in whatever Islamo-commie paper you "write" for.
As for Murtha, I think that if he had a shred of decency he would allow the very effective and objective military legal system to do its job prior to convicting these Marines in the court of public opinion.

Ms. Heard
You've called the Marines in question, murderers, thugs, and by your unsubtle inference to Nuremberg Nazi War Criminals all with out benefit of an investigation by competent authority - no that isn't you - or trial under the UCMJ.
Despite your self acclaimed righteousness and fairness you ma'am are a bigot. Yes a bigot to anyone or anything that does not fit into your precious type X mentality of the world yet should anyone disagree with you you charge them as being type Y.
Grow up Ms Ms. Heard
Let the investigation go forward and keep your mouth shut until it is over. If there is a crime it will go to an article 32 board and then to a generals courts martial.

I'm a "decorated combat Marine." I think that EX-Marine Jack Murtha is a disgraceful piece of trash, as are you. Neither of you bothers with the slightest presumption of innocence, as both of your articles drive home again and again. I hope my comments were among those in 119 that you found especially disturbing. Trust me, the feeling is mutual.
The difference, of course, is that one of us is actually familiar with combat.
Well said, Coop!
And may God continue to bless you and yours!

Using the phrase "war crimes" in an extreme exaggeration and must not apply to this situation. If what happened in Hadaytha is true then it is simply an incident and we should be amazed that much more incidents like did not happen in the last three years and these very rare incidents in a theater of war is a testimony of the great discipline and professionalism of our troops.

Only 119 responses on a Murtha piece? I'd say her original article must have been pretty weak! ROTFL! I'm gonna go dig it up, just for the entertainment value
Man, and she didn't even mention MY posts!
I'll have to be particularly bellicose and all around right-wing crankish on this one. ;)
Free publicity, here I come!

"The fact that this murdering troop has the support of even those 119 posters is worrisome."Has this woman SEEN any solid evidence that these Marines were "murderous"? If she hasn't then she's accusing them falsely. If she's relying on the word of a few 'witnesses' in Haditha, and rejecting any testimony of the Marines, then she's a fool. I'm sure that the witnesses can be bought with simple threats against their families.
If the Marines had been under fire, they had every right to go after their attackers. If there attackers were hiding behind women and children, as they are wont to do, then the Marines didn't 'murder' them, they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It happens all the time in war, and even though our soldiers have gone out of their way, sometimes to the point of death, to keep from having to shoot through civilians to get to the terrorists, sometimes they can't NOT kill innocent bystanders. That is a FAR CRY from flying off the handle and murdering civilians because they simply are angry that they were attacked. I haven't seen any evidence that THAT is what they did.
