What puzzles me is --

Did the review see the movie? If not, how can he write such stuff? If so, does the review think he is mature enough to see the movie but the rest of us aren't?

Am I wrong to think such things?

You are right of course in all you said but for me the best course is to ignore both book and movie. All the hoopla has only served to put money in the pockets of those who delight in sneering at God and any who believe.

"It's just a movie" to those who don't understand.

There is a war going on here, for the hearts and minds of innocents. Lies, in any form, are not entertainment.

are taking a stand against Jesus Christ and His Gospel

For those who came in late, here is the Gospel of Jesus Christ: "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. That whomsoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." That is it. That is all. All the rest is commentary.

It is easier for people to believe that Jesus was God's son if they believe He was born of a Virgin. But it is not necessary for the Gospel to be true, because we don't get to tell God how He does his begetting. Whether or not Jesus married and had children is also irrelevant to the Gospel. In fact, since one of the first things God told Adam and Eve was to "be fruitful and multiply", it would not be so strange if He said the same to his Son. But this idea does seem to offend a large group of people who make there living telling other people what to think about movies, and books.

Didn't God know that this movie was going to be produced? Why didn't He stop it, if it is so horrible?

So the "loving thing to do" is to warn someone that they are too much of a gullible moron to realize that the Da Vinci Code is fictional, and therefore they must never see the movie or read the book?

Socrates was poisoned for poisoning the youth.

Centuries later, it was Mae West.

Then Elvis.

Then the Beatles.

Now (insert demonic rock band here.)

The love of God and Jesus Christ have withstood all of these.

Sincere, believing Christians need not be dismayed.

He then says, however, that it doesn't matter what the real truth is, it only matters what people believe. Such irrational, anti-historical statements may be even more insidious than Dan Brown's book, because they lull people into a deadly sense of apathy about the historical, moral and spiritual identity and mission of Jesus Christ.

Yup. Indifference to truth is indifference to God.

IPSOS reports that up to half of the people who have read the book, 30 million people, have changed their beliefs about Jesus Christ.

The real fear is the same one it has always been: if people engage in any sort of exercise in thinking for themselves, they might stop being paying customers of Catholic Church, Inc. ;)

> THE DA VINCI CODE, though a work of fiction, will greatly weaken Jesus Christ's loving mission to bring salt and light to the human race.

Just *wow.* And here I thought Jesus Christ was some sort of all-powerful deity or something. But it seems a cheesy pulp novel can crush him.

Even I as a non-Christian have no desire to pollute my mind with blasphemy. How much more imperative, then, for a practicing Christian to avoid blasphemy.

"Barna reports that 11 million of the 60 million people or so who have read THE DA VINCI CODE have changed their spiritual beliefs about Jesus Christ after reading the book. IPSOS reports that up to half of the people who have read the book, 30 million people, have changed their beliefs about Jesus Christ."

So which is it? 11 million or 30 million? Big difference there.

To all I have been talking with..time to leave for now, thank you all, and I'm sure we will have similar conversations in the future. I may get back to FR this weekend, I may not...it's up to God.

Have a pleasant holiday weekend.

When one thinks that Muslim money has financed this abomination - it is especially shocking to see people and especially Christians flocking like sheeple to see this trash.
God help them.
