Yes,I was being a bit sarcastic in my original question. But it is my understanding that there's at least one Federal prison that was set up specifically to house the rich, famous and (formerly) powerful in the lap of luxury.
I always thought that Danbury was such a prison.I certainly could be wrong, however.
I'd say sentence both of them to 50 years in prison without parole plus expropriation of ALL their assets. Too many people have suffered from their deeds
Location is everything. Those in Virginia do NOT get it like us Texans do. WOT is the real deal...many in Virginia think in their prissy little elitist thinking way... nuff said.
"Ah but to the Dems Ken Lay is only Bush's Friend!"
Good point. We do need to highlight the corruption of the Dems as it does not get nearly enough airtime.
For a history of Ken Lay's political contributions go here:

I guess Lay's "Don't convict me, I'm a dumbass!" defense strategy didn't work too well...
Lay and Skilling's biggest mistake was not running for Congress. Enron's accounting was much more ethical than that practiced by the federal government.
There will be an appeal.
What took the jury so long??
Well, it took them 6 days to sort through it all, and from the sound of it, very thoroughly.
Contrast this with the OJ verdict, which was spewed in less than 1 hour. The juror who was interviewed soon after and asked why they decided so quickly gave a hilarious response: "We're not stupid! You KNOW what I and 80% of Americans were thinking at that point.
Jury pools, like gene pools, make all the difference.
On the other hand, I daresay that some of Lay and Skilling's victims would have been willing to wait a bit to give them the death penalty.
They look upon Fraud as a greater Crime than Theft, and therefore seldom fail to punish it with Death; for they alledge, that Care and Vigilance, with a very common Understanding, may preserve a Man's Goods from Thieves, but Honesty has no fence against superior Cunning; and since it is necessary that there should be a perpetual Intercourse of Buying and Selling, and dealing upon Credit, where Fraud is permitted and connived at, or has no Law to punish it, the honest Dealer is always undone, and the Knave gets the advantage. I remember when I was once interceding with the King for a Criminal who had wronged his Master of a great Sum of Money, which he had received by Order, and ran away with; and happening to tell his Majesty, by way of Extenuation, that it was only a Breach of Trust; the Emperor thought it monstrous in me to offer, as a Defence, the greatest Aggravation of the Crime: and truly I had little to say in return, farther than the common Answer, that different Nations had different Customs; for, I confess, I was heartily ashamed.
She can't link any of this to Bush. Enron built up its fake reputation during Bubber's administration. Remember, the New York Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission helped the crooks to manipulate the markets and commit fraud and corruption in general.
The DJ rose 8,000 points while Bubber was fooling around in the White House. The DJ has remained rather stable during the last 5 1/2 years.
.
Most of them will not get a dime. Some vendors have sued the banks that were helping Enron shuffle the money and are getting something back, but the employees will not be able to recover their pensions. Word to the wise don't put all your money in your company's ESOP, no matter how solvent they appear to be.
Thank you kindly.
There's no real power in the Texas governorship. The Texas Attorney General should have taken action\
