Iran may force badges on Jews, Christians TEHRAN, May 19 (UPI) -- Iran's parliament passed a new law this week that would force the country's Jews, Christians and other religious minorities to wear color-coded ID badges.
Iranian expatriates confirmed reports the Iranian parliament, or majlis, has approved a law that would require non-Muslims to adhere to a dress code which mandates they wear "standard Islamic garments," according to Canada's National Post.
The roughly 25,000 Jews living in the Islamic Republic would have to attach a yellow strip of cloth to their clothing, Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would wear blue ones.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader and highest authority, must approve the law for it to take effect.
"This is reminiscent of the Holocaust," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, head of the Simon Weisenthal Center in Los Angeles. "Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis."
The Weisenthal Center has written to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan to call on the international community to pressure Iran into abandoning the measure.
"There's no reason to believe they won't pass this," Hier told the Post. "It will certainly pass unless there's some sort of international outcry over this."
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejan has publicly called for Israel to be "wiped off the map." The West believes Tehran is secretly and illegally using its nuclear energy program to develop a weapon, a claim Iran denies.
We have learned nothing from history. We (the US, EU, and the UN) will do nothing, because it is not politically expedient to do anything. Bush is hobbled until after the 2006 election at least, and if there is a large influx of dems he will probably be impeached. We will leave Iran alone until they strike either Europe or the US directly. Sad to say, many in Washington will not do anything if Israel is hit.
The left wing press up here in Canada is ignoring this story.
We know what comes next.
This really makes my blood boil. The left as usual will bury their heads in the sand. It's time the U.S., Canada, Britain, Australia and the allies declare war on these Iranian SOBs. Together we defeated these people in WW2 and together we will do it again.

Europeans will soon start negotiations and will offer incentives packages to change badge colors for something more pastel.
I actually think this is an idea that we should implement in the US ASAP...in reverse!!
Every muslim should be tagged for identification so that we know who we need to deport at the proper time!

Just for one's information, while I was in the USAF we had films of children infected with rabies that were used for teaching purposes. Many of the disturbing films were from the Nazi experiments but the one for rabies was from Iran.
Don't forget.....if they don't change their ways, Anan will will warn that another letter will soon be to follow. Possibly followed by a statement of disappointment from the UN. No action. Just words. Since evidently half the freakin world was in a COMA during their World History classes in school.

Now, I have to ask what does he have or know that gives him confidence. Have Russia and China given him something they shouldn't have? Or has he deployed his suicide bombers throughout the West?
