This morning President and Mrs. Bush greeted Australian Prime Minister John Howard and his wife, Janette to the White House in an official South Lawn Arrival Ceremony as part of a state visit, followed by a meeting of the two leaders in the Oval Office, and a joint statement to the press in the East Room. There will be an official State Dinner at the White House this evening.

This afternoon President Bush congratulated the WNBA 2005 National Champion, Sacramento Monarchs at a ceremony in the East Garden of the White House, where he accepted a shirt and championship ring.

I think a lot of moderate people out there are afraid to say anything because they fear being whacked by the idiots out there. Maybe because they do not like confrontation or they feel that they might not be that well informed or equipped to fight them but when others do they feel comfortable in encouraging those who do fight.

I am a total BUSHBOT, I admit it, but I am also more moderate then some here and I get smacked or ignored for it. It's OK.

As we get older we say 30 years thinking that was a long time ago but then realise actually that was only the 70s in fact what we really mean is 40 or 50 years. I know I tend to do it.

Another thing I tend to think 1950s not long ago just before I was born and then realise that was over 50 years ago as I am 46 this year.

Does anybody know the protocol for state dinners? Does the president always come out to greet the primary guests or does that sometimes happen inside (weather issues aside)?

I just don't recall a lot of pictures of GWB standing at the curb, but that could just be my memory.

History has a way of taking a long time to discover truth.....much like the Joe McCarthy story. However, I believe this President may have some help.

One of our wounded warriors recently left Walter Reed and wants to become a History teacher. The reason he gave...he would not allow "them" to turn his 2 year old against him (the military) and what the WOT is all about.
