I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.

But I'm afraid he's not going far enough. Guest worker program = postponed disaster. Tamper-proof ID card = eventually, any system can be cracked. Can't send illegals back: wrong, George, don't say "can't" until we've tried it!

Laughable. Who is going to bell the cat? Do we really expect the illegals to disclose their whereabouts to the USG and submit to background investigations, which entail not only police checks in the US but also in their country of origin? Does anyone appreciate the size of the bureaurcacy that is necessary to administer this system for up to 20 million illegals and the millions more who come in legally? We currently have backlogs of years just for those coming in legally now. This is a giant sham.
