The German government used kids as undercover "agents" during the 30's and 40's.

Isn't paying a underage person to get you cigarettes "contributing to the delinquency of a minor"?

Had this tried on me numerous times when I was in college working at a C-Store. It's just part of the job.

I meant to add that this type of sting was never done with beer sales. Not sure why.

It's entrapment, and any conviction resulting from these nazi-like tactics should be struck down.

$7.00 an hour, huh? Just enough to buy a six pack of beer.

Something isn't right.

"The girl had told him her mother was waiting in the car, the store clerk said."
....
"They're instructed never to lie, but they are given leeway."

I have two sons and a daughter, and I must confess that at one time I actively worked at guiding them towards rewarding occupations requiring education, judgement, knowledge, discipline and reward.

That ruled out cheerleading and WAGS (Women and Gender Studies), and they all turned out successful and productive beyond all my expectations.

Not a hint of exaggerated importance of self or delusions about controlling others "for their own good". Being undercover sting agents, I must confess, never crossed my mind. Was not even on my long distance radar.

I feel like an abject failure!

A couple of little creeps indeed. It's a shame the politician's and their accomplices waste the tax payer's money trying to entrap businesses over a beer or a pack of smokes.

This is going on in every state and has been forever for both tobacco and alcohol. Why shouldn't they do checks because otherwise these lamebrained clerks and retailers will sell sell sell anything to anybody. It's all about making a buck.

Government spending resources on sting operations to combat more non-crime. Why am I not surprised?

Why is this a problem? Don't they realize all these store clerks are doing is helping raise government revenue? I would think the governor would appreciate all the help.

Seriously, clerks better be watchful of this. Washington has been doing it for years on alcohol as well as cigarettes. I'm 57 and was actually carded just the other night. All I could do was smile and say thank you!

Kids start young these days.

They're not serious though, they are just clowning around.

The two teens work undercover for the North Shore Tobacco Control Program, the regional agency that regularly conducts stings at gas stations, convenience stores and supermarkets to see whether they sell cigarettes to underage kids.

The little narcs will probably be getting a butt whupping by their peers.

Do these kids have to pay for their uniforms with the $7 an hour they're making??
