Bush addresses drop in approval ratings
ContraCosta Times ^ | May. 11, 2006 | Jim Stratton

ORLANDO, Fla. - President Bush, his approval ratings at a record low, acknowledged Wednesday that war in Iraq and rising gas prices have created "battle fatigue" among many Americans.

That anxiety, Bush said, has settled over much of the nation as people worry about whether the United States will succeed in Iraq and how they will afford to fill up their tanks.

"There's a sense of disquiet because of the war in Iraq," said Bush, in an hour-long interview with the Orlando Sentinel and six other Florida newspapers.

Yep. The N.A.U. - North American Union. Another step on the path toward One World Government.

Everybody needs long-term goals, don'cha know. Utopia is everyone's dream. Isn't it?

"And you call ((ME)) kooky?..

You should feel proud to be called a kook by sinkspur. Actually I will amend my previous remark to include him.

The Bush Alamo now is down to Sinkspur, serious investors and apocalyptic believers that the end is near and war will bring salvation.

My #1 problem w/ the prez is his wiretapping and general sense of invading our privacy

"Sense of". What about actually invading your privacy. Oh, he's not, so you couln't say that. But you get that FEELING.. There certainly are a group of people who go by FEELINGS.. and most of them don't post here often, or regularly, which is why I guess, that you are new here. Welcome.

If a major storm hits my area I don't want the President walking around shaking hands and nodding his head.

You've missed my point entirely, I didn't say anything about Bush arriving in NO within minutes of Katrina passing thru ... that's not expected of him. However, by positioning himself in Washington, or at NORAD, instead of his vacation ranch in Crawford, it would have squelched any charges by the 'Rats and liberal MSM that he didn't grasp the enormity of the situation. Instead he pulled a real rookie blooper, boarded AF1 on the morning immediately after Katrina hit and flew out to a fund raiser in San Diego. Not smart ...

NORAD? It was a hurricane , not a nuclear bomb. We get them every year. You want him wringing his hands everytime there is a storm?

You know, I live in Louisiana, and not once have I ever blamed Bush for Katrina. I don't understand where people are coming from who would. MY LOUISIANA ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE TO BLAME, NOT BUSH!!!!

I apologize for yelling, it just getting extremely irritating for me for people to keep blaming him.

With most conservatives it's illegal immigration but with the general population the two key issues are Iraq and the price at the pump.

50% of the people don't like him and voted against him anyway, so we can discount that much of the ~65% negative response. Of the remaining ~15%, how many would you figure consider immigration paramount?

Bush botched Katrina by underestimating the damage that would occur from a category 5 hurricane ...

Give me a break.......

I don't know anybody who voted for John Kerry, but 59 million Americans did.

How many were dead?

Ok. And does he continue to fight for ANWR? Is he out there fighting to repeal gas taxes and energy surcharges? No. He wants investigations into oil companys. Brilliant.

My #1 problem w/ the prez is his wiretapping and general sense of invading our privacy. Too much movement towards a secure state.

Please don't come on here and express your ignorance of the subject. At the very least read up on it...before posting.

He knows why the people are upset with him.

But he is not going to say the immigration word because if he did then he would have to admit what is already obvious, he is flipping off the American people.

He is determined to have his way about immigration and he don't give a damn what the people say or what is best for the party or the country.

He's going to push his Globalist agenda and give the rich business community what they want and we can lump it or like it.

He's the Ki...er President and he knows what is best for his serv...ah..er..people.

He wants investigations into oil companys.

No he doesn't. He threw that out there to shut the liberals and the media up. And it worked.

Nobody's investigating oil companies; there's nothing to investigate.

GWB: "It's because of... Hey, is that an elephant?"

Reporter: "No, Mr. President, there are no elephants in this room"

GWB: "OK, for a minute I thought I saw an elephant. The reason my polls are low is because..."
