While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.
"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.
"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."
Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.
"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.
"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

Went to your link...awww hell!!
That situation is about as messed up as it can be. Poorly managed Foreign policy and National Security policy since the Ford Administration has gotten us where we are. The threat of death to foreign national leaders who sponsored or enabled terrorist was eliminated by Jerry Ford.
The Declaration of War against Iraq was at best sickening in content. We declared WW2 on a paragraph spelling out our national interest. The Iraq Declaration looked more like a U.N. writ. The second problem was a lack of a specifically spelled out military objective in Iraq. Meaning the elimination of Saddam and sons. The third is involving our troops in nation building. Soldiers are not the Peace Corp and the U.S. has zero obligation to rebuild Iraq especially at the expense of the lives of our troops and overextension of an overtaxes and undermanned military.
I expected more defense wise from the GOP. I expected to see permanent Active Duty Armed Forces numbers substantially increased. They haven't been which means the reserves and National Guard has been taking up the slack. We saw first hand last summer the value of having state National Guards and what happens when they aren't available. Many state Civil Defense and disaster relief programs rely heavily on the Guards because of their equipment and experience. When the guards deploy overseas that means in rural areas sometimes up to a forth of a local department be it sheriffs, parimedics, or fire, may be suddenly unaviable.
It's time for the WOT to take on a more covert based plan of operation and bring troops back for training and some well deserved and needed downtime. The equipment needs maintenance as well. We need to get back towards having the capabilities to handle our own problems military wise.
We live by a color coded alert system on terrorism yet anyone can still walk in south of the border unchallenged. We treat our own with suspicion by searching them head to toe to board a subway yet allow anyone to enter illegally then invite more to do the same. It does make a person wonder about things. I have no doubts as to the risk of terrorism it is real. But we are not using good common sense in the fight of it by any means.
Unbelievable, outrageous, and sickening!
This is what we get from a so-called "conservative, right-wing" government???
For all those who pronounce the imminent doom of the Republic if the rat party takes over this year my question would be:
What the *ell would be the difference????
>>>The Republicans will lose the house and the senate if this report is correct.
Correcto mundo - bump
And then, the Democrats will try to impeach Bush, for the wrong reason.
Is the government of Mexico engaged in invading the United States? If so, the best solution would be to fight a no-kidding war against Mexico, conquer it, and finance its reconstruction into a more palatable form of governance from its oil reserves.
I mean are we allowed to kick their ass out or do we go to the international law tribunal and request a conference with their government representative?
Generally, if the sole matter is an immigration issue, then notifying the consular official of detention and deportation sufficient. If we're charging the guy with any serious crimes (i.e., felonies), then we have to grant consular officials access to the prisoner. (BTW, this is why charging illegal immigration as a felony is not a good idea--it gives the Mexican government an opportunity to gum up even the simplest deportation.)
Man you are at the wrong site to be quoting international law. Here we believe AMERICAN law takes precedence over international law when it comes to invading our country.
News flash: it IS American law--the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations is the treaty which governs this stuff, and the US ratified it.
Look, I was a cop in San Diego 30 years ago. We dealt with this sort of issue all the time. Yes, even private citizens making citizen's arrests had to submit to a consular interview.
They are not going to change. They are signed up for the CFR 'American Union' by 2010 and it looks like they are making a lot of progress.
The BP can't keep track of the illegals invading the border because they are too busy tracking grandmothers and retired military volunteers who are US citizens ON OUR OWN LAND! This is the most outrageous thing I have heard in this illegal immigrant mess. Write your congressmen and senators and tell them you expect this harrassment of our citizens to stop immediately. George Bush must think he's King George, but there is another branch of government that could call Chertoff on the carpet and make him testify before a Congressional committee on immigration regarding this kowtowing to Mexico.
Damn them for pushing us closer and closer to having to do it again...
Benjamin Franklin said it best...` "We must all hang together or assuredly we will all hang separately." ...
And all treaties made pursuant to the Constitution, of which the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations is one.
With zero support from the right, Bush will go when the left takes the house and senate, unless they decide to keep him as a wipping boy which would be a wiser move. Either way Bush/Rove may very well have killed the GOP. I am thinking a third party may very well rise out of the ashes of the GOP in 08. Not even the bots brother to support Bush any longer. The treason on the border is as plain as day and all America can see it.
Canada's Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. I don't know what his future title will be once the Order is established. Upper Continental Constable, maybe? :o)

US Government Pro-Illegals Anti-Minutemen
http://www.theconservativevoice.com/article/14455.html
By Sher Zieve - Three documents that appear on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations website advise that the US Border Patrol must notify the Mexican government as to the whereabouts of members of the US citizen Minuteman Project. The US Border patrol is charged with keeping track of the Minutemen and then giving their locations to members of the Mexican government.
DailyBulletin.com broke the story and writes that a US Border Patrol official confirmed it. The Bulletin quotes Founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps Chris Simcox as saying: "Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time. It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels. They just basically endangered the lives of American people."
I like Laura Bush too. :)
Exactly!
Minutemen do not make arrests, and you know it. You are simply being a pot stiirrer, and you know that too.
I live on the border, I call BP or other LE whenever I see something I think they should be aware of. Suspected smuggling, illegals, you name it I call on it.
The Minutemen are doing the very same thing I do, only there are more of them, so they see more things going on.
The Minutemen activities are very much like a neighborhood watch operation in a very large neighborhood. Do city police give criminals intel about neighborhood watch programs? I hope not.
The CFR clowns are going to have to have their own army if they want to stay alive. This is not 1929 and too many people know what is going on.
Five years ago I would have said this CFR and NWO stuff is just nuts now I see that it is true and they are attempting to take the US without even firing a shot.
That's it, thanks. I had it on the tip of my tongue and couldn't spit it out.
