U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols (telling the Mexican government)
Daily Bulletin ^ | 5/9/2006 | Sara A Carter

Posted on 05/09/2006 6:21:25 AM PDT by IrishMike

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are. According to three documents on the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Relations Web site, the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants -- and if and when violence is used against border crossers.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

Minuteman members were not so sanguine about the arrangement, however, saying that reporting their location to Mexican officials nullifies their effectiveness along the border and could endanger their lives.

"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."

The Mexican government is protecting the $20 billion a year the illegals loot from this country and send to Mexico.

Your comments are spot on.

I'm furious and don't know an effective place to put my anger.

My immigrant ancestors followed the rules to the detriment of many who did not make it out of Europe before the Holoucaust. Seems that was the wrong approach. Visit Mexico, take a walk north.

...migrants' rights are being observed.

Huh?

Let's just start giving rights to Al Qaeda members then too. In fact, let's just bring them over here, give them houses and jobs funded by taxpayers, and give them every chance to rehabilitate themselves and blend into the fabric of American life.

Hell, let's just set Saddam free and bring him here.

I sent it to Michelle Malkin, Sandra Gunn at FAIR, and Bay Buchanan at Team America. Let Tom Tancredo get his teeth into this.....

Also, would be a good idea to call Frist, and give this as an example as to why the American people can't trust their government. Maybe it will stiffen his spine a bit.

Americans are being enslaved by illegals.

Hmmm...I didn't notice that it was a different story. You may want to FReepMail the mods if it really was entirely different. I thought they were both the same story by "Sara A. Carter."

Mine was the same story but just a different newspaper - we must have been in the process of posting it at the same time and IrishMike was a little quicker than I was.

I was asking more about a totally different story as there are AP reports out about this now.

She is an immigrant herself (legal) but she still gets called a Filipino whore when she speaks up against illegal immigration.

She's a natural born U.S. citizen, born in Philadelphia. Her parents were immigrants.

I know the guy's a loon but Bill O'Reilly is actually useful as he has a big audience and is on the right side of this issue.

Re #15 -

"...we need to weed out the goofy liberal traitors from the border patrol.."

Oh, I think it goes a LOT higher than that!

Why do we even bother to have laws, our own government act in collusion with illegal aliens and foreign governments against it's own people

A better question would be, why do we bother to follow them ?

Our own government doesn't even bother.

Sorry about that - I was under the impression that she was born in the Phillipines and immigrated here as very young child. Thanks.

If it were only Mexicans coming, that would be bad enough.

But we know it's not. The militant Islamists must be laughing up a fit. We get Iraq, they get Mexico.

IMO the R - party is broken beyond repair, and cannot be fixed from within due to the number of career politicians in its ranks.

R's are not earning conservative votes with their actions.

We need to start a Jefferson Party, taking the best planks from the republican, constitution, and libertarian platforms to make a true 'classical liberal' party, according to the definition of Hayek in "The Road to Serfdom."

Actually, he does. That's why Rush is Rush.

He used to, long ago. He comes across to me as nothing more than a political hack running off the momentum of his glory days.

"But then don't complain"

I will complain if all real American do not support a third party, any and all not supporting a third party will be the Anti-American traitors. Both the GOP and Rat party are completely corrupt and actively acting against the interests of American citizens. The proof is beyond doubt. If you vote D or R in 08 you are the problem not the solution.

I don't have a clue how to go about that, but raising my lousy little popgun to the machine isn't going to do anything but get me dead.

I never said you should. But we are not being listened to by those in Goverment and it's only going to get worse until our only option of getting out from under this oppressive hold down they have on us now is going to come down to fighting to throw off the self appointed rulers.

Anyone who works in Border control wants to keep his/her job! If the Minutemen succeed they get a reduction in force.
Same principle applies to health care or any bureaucratic endeavor. They want to magnify the need for whatever it is that they do.

[ Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups ]

Better to facilitate the flow of drugs across the border.. with the illegals.. Mexicos gov't is not a gov't but a Drug Cartel.. This paints ultimately the White House as an enabler..

Republicans were outraged by "Mena"(Drug dealing) with the Clintons but draw the line putting the drug dominos together with BUSH and his administration.. Democrats are quiet about it too but then the illegals WILL BE democrats and shouting about the drugs could stop the flow of illegals.. Wonder if George Bush and Bill Clinton play fussball in a remote location and the winner gets the proceeds from Mexico..

Most Republicans, even here on FR, seem to be oblivious.. Unless Bush is caught on a internet sex predator sting by cBS.. they don't care.. Teflon George will skate.. When Hillary wins the presidency in 2008 BUBBA will be BACK.. but the fussball game will still go on, no doubt..
