Say a prayer for the people of Honolulu. My former police chief, the utterly incompetent Charles "Still waiting for the white van" Moose, has resurfaced. (Hat tip: reader JB) According to WTOP News, he is now training to be a street officer in Hawaii.
Charles Moose was at the forefront of the hunt for the snipers who terrorized the D.C. area, four years ago -- the former Montgomery County Police Chief was the public face of the regional task force that arrested John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo.
Just before opening statements in Muhammad's sniper murder trial, Charles Moose is training as a recruit for the Honolulu Police Department.
WTOP has told you it was in the works in the past few weeks, but Michelle Yu, of the Honolulu Police Department confirms Moose entered the training academy May 1. She says Moose will undergo approximately six months of classroom training and another six months of field training.
Moose's wife has been quoted as saying her husband misses the excitement of police work and has been looking forward to getting back to the work he loves. You'll remember Moose stepped down as chief to write a book on the sniper investigation.
When he graduates, Moose will have the rank of Officer.
Hope they can keep him from shaking down anymore island hotels.

Moose couldnt find his butt crack with a flashlight and a mirror..ROFL :)
It was obvious after a while this guy was basically an idiot, pandering to the media to find his 2 minutes of fame. Made in mayor Negan's mold? :)

Whatever happened to his enormous and vociferous cheering section on FR?
To: TankerKC
I've read a lot of Moose bashing here on FR. Truthfully, I have read much. Maybe he deserves it.
Maybe he deserves it? You must not be from the DC region. This ignorant fool, in charge because of affirmative action, got people killed. And after it was all said and done, he held an Oscars style event so he could thank himself and others involved.
I've never seen anything like this before in my life. Damn fool, he fought to keep looking in the wrong direction even when folks were calling in with an exact description of the Muslim terrorists working their Jihad.
Big arrogant dope who I hope will reap what he has sown. He's a leech on society.
He went to Hawaii on vacation once and a security guard asked if he was a hotel guest while he was walking around somewhere he shouldn't have been. He got a civil rights lawyer and shook them down for a good amount.
I hope this guy burns in Hell. And that stupid, acid-like wife of his who told the press they "needed antiques" when he was pimping himself for a book deal while he had blood on his hands should be next to him for eternity.

The FBI and sheriffs from PG, Fairfax, Prince William and Howard counties are just as much to blame for not being able to stop the killing. You must believe that it was Moose and his wife that hung the banner up over 495 in Potomac that said "WE LOVE YOU SHERIFF MOOSE" the day after the snipers were caught.

Thank you for your remarks on Chief Moose, which have provided some balance.
The man's downfall was being overexposed by the national media. What happened to him could have happened to any honest person. They were camped outside demanding their air time be filled. He just gave them one too many photo ops and statements.
He always struck me as a decent ordinary man suddenly thrust into the spotlight. I am sure some of it went to his head and he didn't realize how the overexposure was making him look puffed up with his own importance and just plain silly.
I hope he gets back into the sort of police work he most enjoys in Hawaii.

I sense allot of hostility, but since your from Maryland you have allot to be hostile about. BTW, Michigan has more waterfront property or water frontage or coastline than any other state except Alaska. That's why they have more light houses.

Of course I have a lot of hostility. I had to wonder if I was going to get shot as I gassed up my car while a incompetent whacked out moron delayed the investigation. And all this because white liberals felt guilt over there not being enough blacks running a police force so they put a dumba@@ in charge.
You are right about the Maryland coastline which surprises me. But you're wrong about Michigan at 3,288 miles. MI only had 98 more miles than MD. And if it's not salt water does it really still count?

I was living in Annandale,VA when it was all going on. The Home Depot shooting was right across Rt 7 from where my wife worked, and the guy that was killed filling up his truck in Manassas worked at the desk next to where my best friend still sits at.
Of course it counts,Michigan is surrounded by the good stuff, fresh water. While I was checking my facts, I also found another one about MD, no natural lakes. How sad...

Probably because the entire area is a watershed for the bay. No need for lakes, we have the Chesapeake bay, ocean and rivers. For whatever reason I don't get as excited by fresh water. When you fish saltwater you never know what is gonna be on the other end of the line. And you get the surf.

Maryland does win the best looking state flag award!
Here in North Carolina, the state health department is warning everyone not to eat most of the salt water fish because of the high levels of mercury. The selection of fresh fish at the stores in the Raleigh is poor in comparison to what I was used to in the DC area. Being told not to eat it kind of cuts fish out of my diet, and I love eating fish, salt or fresh water.

It's a pretty flag, but I've never been able to appreciate it because this state is so left. And what does it say when a flag has yellow on it.
I like this one better

No, she was humiliated by Ehrlich, who is doing a great job. The only thing that can stop him and Steele is the new fraudulent election laws the Dems put in power last session.

Annapolis sure showed Walmart who the boss is, even with Ehrlich there. It wouldn't surprise me if they close down all their stores and open new ones along the state borders. Your never more than an hour away from escaping MD.
