The one interesting statewide race is the battle for Wyoming's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Wyoming is one of seven sparsely-populated states which send only a single congressman to that chamber. Since 1942, with one exception, the state's Member-at-Large has been a Republican.
But Representative Barbara Cubin, first elected in 1994, now leads Democratic challenger Gary Trauner by only four percentage points, 47% to 43% and the GOP can hardly take her reelection for granted. This becomes one more contest to which the GOP may have to devote resources during an election year in which the party is proving especially vulnerable.
Congressional Quarterly has just revised its assessment of the seat from "safe" to "Republican favored."
Representative Cubin is viewed favorably by 49%, unfavorably by 47%. Trauner is viewed favorably by 34%, unfavorably by 28%. He's regarded as an unknown by 38%. Only 5% are Not Sure what to think of Cubin.

Wyoming bloggers make that claim frequently. It's kind of irritating, that she is putting an otherwise safe GOP seat in jeopardy.
lets see quick answer...
Bush selling his base out and Congress following along. Personally I dont care if we lose seats, in the long run they will know not to sell the conservtaive base which got them elected out.

She's probably not all that well known outside her constituents either.
Keynes said in the long run we are all dead. All that matters is the short run in politics, which becomes the long run. Putting Dems in is a nice way to get another 9/11, except next time it will be nukes. If you can live with that, you have no conscience.
yeah having an open border will get us another 9/11 as well. Then who will you blame, if its under Bush watch?
Whatever you think of the border problem, electing more Dems is the damned stupidest idea I ever heard. Are you listening to yourself?
That's true. But it's every bit as important for GOP primaries to be won by pro-border security candidates.
Wyoming has increasingly been populated by the mega-rich hollywood types as well as media types. Heavy concentrations around Jackson. The Great and Beautiful Stat of Wyoming, sadly, is going blue.""
How about all the new jobs in the Gillette area? Are they UNION jobs and also liberal voters????
IIRC, the county that has Jackson in it was the only blue county in WY in '04. And it was red in '00. Something changed.
Which, in this case, is exactly what Bilbray is, right?
yes, it is called 'progressive infestation' where liberals from liberal hell holes like California or NY move to red states because the economies are better and housing prices low and then begin to push for the very things that destroyed where they were from.
That said, a few thousand folk from out of state cannot of themselves change a state for the worse unless the residents let them.
I have been following the local Boise Idaho papers and the letters to the editor could be from my own local paper in socialist portland maine, rote regurgitations of democrat talking points and different versions of 'Bush is a meanie'. The people writing these letters are not the folk born and raised in Idaho, nor are they from conservatives moving to the state, no, they are from california transplants who want to recreate the California mess in an area cheaper to live in.
When confronted by progressive infestation, fight back. Vote against their candidates. Write counter letters to the paper. Establish conservative web sites. If you don't, in a couple of decades the left will have taken over and the state will be doomed to mediocraty and poverty....I speak from experience. I write from Maine.
Bilbray is a RINO on many issues, but he's generally good on border security.
Very well-stated. People (including coastal leftists) have the right to live wherever they choose, but that doesn't mean that they have to take the new hometowns over.
Non-union and quite conservative.
Bologna!
You definetely do not want Groutage to win the senate race! Thomas is a lot like you described Cubin, except maybe he is dumber than the post!
That is what happened in the last Governors race. This democrat governor sounds more like a conservative now than the RINO's in congress. I imagine he will change his tune if he wins again in November.
