I don't think people here are nearly as interested in roasting him for his problems, as they are just sick and tired of his entire family's behavior....

1) this guy has had MULTIPLE problems, but it seems his "seeking treatment" is not really about changing his life or behavior- but more a mere going through the motions in order to evade accountability so he can keep his job and continue his behavior

2) The Cover-up is the most disturbing.

3) The lies about this incident is just insulting to our intelligence...(I never asked for special treatment- but I don't remember a thing........I was not drinking- but no comment on if I was at the club you hear of in the news......

4) And of course the MOST insulting thing to us, is the MEDIA's handling of the situation...no focus on PATTY.. NO! they focus on "the dangers of Ambien" and the battle of police turf between older officers that embrace special treatment for the elitists (protecting the politicos instead of the PEOPLE), and the new blood who have their hands tied form doing their jobs....

can you imagine...becoming a police officer and then realizing that your are really just mere body guards and servants of the people who think they are ABOVE the laws you thought you were supposed to be ENFORCING?

You forgot the best part! Yesterday afternoon there was a statement from Kennedy that he was with a woman before his accident and she will swear that he was not drinking!

This doesnt seem like Patches wake up call, still I hope it works for him. The problem he faces is more than just drug abuse. He has been raised in an enviroment where bad things are covered up and excused. In addition, numerous immediate family members have walked on serious charges because of who they were. This enabling that he has grown accustomed to will be one heck of an obstacle to surmount for him in treatment. Accepting personal responsibilty for ones actions is difficult if you have been living in a fog of booze and drugs. This is the voice of experience writing. If Patches really wants sobriety, he will have to accept a lot of things contrary to his upbringing. If he is serious about this, he has a tough row to hoe, and since a lot of people were in my corner that I didnt deserve when I accepted my addiction, I will be in his..

"the dangers of Ambien"

I've been prescribed Ambien for jet lag and international travel, and the idea that the recommended dosage would cause "sleep driving", intoxicated behavior, and car crashes is ludicrous.

Even if you wake up after 3 or 4 hours (the reason they have the new Ambien time-release scrip), the worst effect is that you wake up and feel a little woozy. Not intoxicated.

Rush was very compassionate on Friday - hoping that he does get the treatment he needs. Yet the MSM keeps going on and on how what Rush did was sooooooo much worse than what patches did. They would take any chance to bash Rush, but poor widdle baby kennedy did nothing wrong.

Totally agree w you. Can you imagine the media and Dims in congress if this had happened to a Republican!!! There would be NO sympathy at all. It would be Rush, part deux - -they'd be demanding doctor records, an investigation, hauling them in front of the Ethics Comm in the House, etc., etc.
