The Talk Shows
Sunday, May 7th, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich.; Sens. Joseph Biden, D-Del., and Arlen Specter, R-Pa.; Washington Nationals co-owner Mark Lerner.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.; Bush impersonator Steve Bridges.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga.; Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Texas; Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean; outgoing White House press secretary Scott McClellan.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt; Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan.; Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif.; Iraqi national security adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie; former CIA Deputy Director John McLaughlin.
Did Rep. Hoekstra say that he doesn't want a military man at the head of the CIA because the CIA's job is to inform policymakers so they can...make policy, not to report to the military so they can plan action. It sounded like we-are-the-almighty-legislature-and-don't-you-forget-it. We needed more action and less bloviating before 9-11.
"OK it comes out of our taxes but I am quite happy to do that for my senior citizens and what they have done for my country."
I agree w you snugs. Not sure about the UK, but I know we wouldn't have as much of a deficit problem here and/or paying for entitlement programs (soc sec, medicare, medicaid, etc.) if, for starters
1) they'd get rid of a lot of non-essential programs such as studying the mating habits of tse tse flies, sponsoring the Cowgirl Museum, etc. (not saying that they shouldn't be done, but don't think the taxpayers should pay for many of them)
2) they'd monitor and administer the entitlement programs better (get rid of those that are receiving payment that shouldn't be - - there was a case here recently in WA where a woman had been cashing her mom's SS checks and her mom had been dead for 12 years - - the woman owes the gov't about $250,000)
3)quit paying for healthcare and welfare for illegals.
OK, that's a keeper!
Finally, something watch after Brit Hume instead of reruns of Good Eats that I've seen a dozen times.
Of course, tomorrow is all Tony all the time.
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh!! Can you say ...uh...deer...in ...the ...headlights......
Oh yeah Howard Dean!! You just keep saying she will be the next speaker and keep putting her our there for national interviews. Man this interview just saved the Republican's a ton of money they can now spend somewhere else!!!
Rep. Hoekstra ignores history.
Try not to be an a**
I am talking about being ACTIVE as in ACTIVIST to fight for conservative values
ROFLOLOL!
I suspect it was payback for President Bush campaigning for him.
I was going to post a nice story about Rumsfeld that I read yesterday, but it has a Url that never ends. Maybe you can find it, it was from Yesterday about 10:12A.M. on Yahoo News site, and it was an AP article taken from a Military writer about how Rummy is trying to get the Chinese to return a pilot that was shot down in 1956. It turns out that it was a Buddy of his, and the widow just now publicized it.
I liked it!
AMEN!
Here is the story
