Why else would he resign so suddenly?

1) How do you know it was sudden? Just because you and the MSM learned about it without benefit of prior leaks?

2) There are any number of reasons why Mr. Goss may have chosen to resign, not the least of which is the fact that the role of CIA director is not what it used to be. Negroponte has all but totally gutted it.

Right after the break, Shep says he has new info coming from Bret Baier at the Pentagon.

COULD be hype- but heads up anyway.

Me: "Why else would he resign so suddenly?"

1. I don't know. If felt sudden and wasn't on the scheduel. There was a lack of detail - no date for him leaving and no hint of his replacement.

2. Agreed.

1. He resigned effective immediately. No long term replacemement has been announced that I know of.

2. You are right, there are lots of potential reasons and none of us knows the real reason. I'll be honest: its more fun to gossip about bribery and hookers than the other reasons.

You must be kidding. But I will listen. In what way has Negroponte done anything at all to undermine the cleansing of subversive elements in the CIA? He is the one who called for the immediate translation of documents pertaining to Saddam's nuclear program in 2000. And Bush is the one who has not followed through to my understanding.
