It usually happens right after reelection for a 2nd term, but I imagine with 2 wars and a hurricane last year, it makes them stay longer to finish work.

Goss hasn't been there long, who knows, maybe he has had it with the moles in the CIA, and the DOJ won't help him clean up?

Or it could be personal.

Maybe it was always intended to go down like this? Goss to serve a limited period, do some specific tasks, hand it off to Negroponte and Pres. Bush to select a new long-term Director who will serve far into the next administration?? I'm trying to be hopeful, rather than to imagine that this is some "revenge of the Wilson-McCarthy axis" that means they tripped up Goss or just plain wore him out..........
